Is there a more selfish player than Spencer Dinwiddie? Guy took like the last 25 shots for Brooklyn. And the fuck never misses when we play them lmao.

Yeah, the no incentive to lose thing assumes tanking happens on a player level, which it doesn't. Players are going to go out there and try to win.

However, the Nets, unlike bad teams we've seen in the past, have adapted nicely to today's style. They do play their asses off every game, and they shoot a ton of threes.

Yeah, but "playing your asses off" can only accomplish so much, and eventually you can't play like that when the season drags on.

They're 6-12, give up the 2nd most points in basketball, are banged up, and they've played one of the easiest schedules in the league to this point (for reference, Dallas and Sacto have played 2 of the 5 hardest schedules to this point).

People here are acting like they are 2 games out of a playoff spot, instead of 2 games back from the 3rd worst record in basketball.

Who’s to say that teams like the Bulls, Mavs Kings couldn’t all get better and pass the Nets. I think the Nets have been way over performing. Shooting and scoring points out of their minds. Have a hard time seeing that continue for the whole season.

In before IBWT comes up with a reason to think the Nets are going to be a 20-25 win team.

No, this team is going to have 30-35 wins by the end of the year. Might not make the playoffs but it isn't gonna be a 1-5 pick like everyone is projecting it to be.

Let's look at the facts. Not your shitty opinion...or mine. Just the facts.

If you extrapolate their 6-12 record out to 82 games...what would their record be?

27-55.

Their strength of schedule through their first 18 games?

25th out of 30 teams.

But please, tell me how awesome the Nets are because they played a mediocre Portland team tough at 12:00 PM the day after Thanksgiving at home.

Lol remember when people on this very board used to want to trade this pick

Good times... good times...

This can’t be emphasized enough

This was a game that the Nets should have won. It’s fcking 9am Portland time the day after Thanksgiving... and they’re at home

And they still lost

I’m happy

OTOH, this pick has gotten a lot weaker if Porter doesn't enter the draft....

I'm still in favor of trading the pick if we find the right piece to get for it --- but that is not a player who is able to leave after this year.

Why would porter not enter the draft if he is healthy. I we dont have the first pick he is who I would want healthy or not. His game would work perfectly with an aging James.

So I came into town and attended the Brooklyn game. They have just enough young talent to win 25 games in my opinion as long as they don’t suffer any more serious injuries. If Lin and Russell were healthy, this pick woukd not nearly be as good. They have some decent shooters and just enough vets to keep them from being horrible. They Are just a bad team that can win enough games to frustrate us. ThAt is an honest assessment. Still way to early to trade the pick unless something ama ing comes up, which I doubt. Best guess is this pick ends up in the 5 to 9 range.

They are in the 3/4 spot in the loss column. As long as they’re doing that consistently, I am fine with whatever they “look”. It’s still time to put some nice loosing streaks together.

porter is almost definitely going to still be a top 5-7 pick and almost definitely still going to declare especially after a very serious back injury. Any team that drafted him will give him his whole rookie deal to get it together physically....still $24-30 mil guaranteed. He's going to forsure come out IMO and forsure be top 10.

If and when Brooklyn wins on Wednesday, I wouldn't put too much into that and I definitely won't have knee jerk reactions towards trading the pick due to perceived lessening value..

Brooklyn's playing Memphis who's been on a downward spiral, 7 losses in a row. Grizzlies will be motivated and try to snap their streak, but with the way both teams are playing lately, I like the Nets chances in this game.
