Nets-Spurs tonight:

BREAKING: The Spurs are shutting down Kawhi Leonard for an "indefinite period." Story, with Gregg Popovich reaction, to come.

Knew Kawhi wasn’t gonna play. Spurs have been still a top 3 west team even without him all year. They tend to rally when things get tough and they get counted out due to injury. They should still win tonight.

Yeah they're not unbeatable, they're just not beatable by us, the way we're currently playing & constructed. Boston could easily take them to 7 games and who's to say they don't end up with home-court (only a couple games behind as of right now). Then if Harden and Cp3 finally show up for a playoff series then they have a punchers chance. Then there's always the Spurs, who if they can manage to get healthy, are capable of pulling off the upset. In-fact I'd like to see San Antonio end with the 4th seed so Golden State would have to face both the Rockets and Spurs en route to the finals.

Boston could not easily take the Warriors to 7 games. Boston would be extremely fortunate to get 1 game against them in a Finals matchup. Just because they won a meeting in the RS doesn’t change anything. They have nowhere near the firepower to compete with GS. If Kyrie goes off big time maybe they’d steal one.

There’s no way in hell thats enough. They’re not gonna tie up their future cap with TT just for a late first pick.

How does it tie up their future cap? After next year he's an expiring contract, and they'll definitely be rebuilding for a couple seasons if they make the trade. So having TT for a tank season or two hurts nothing--it helps, since he's a loser.

This pick lingering around top 5-7 possibly as deadline approaches when it was 10 before is a good thing... Even at 7 there's a chance you may get one of the top five players projector before the season started in Mamba ... Young and Sexton may push him back in a league of PG's... It just really depends .. not to mention the duo for Michigan State

I've seen multiple mocks and they have us landing Sexton in the majority with the 7th or 8th pick and another had us at #4 taking Young over Porter Jr.....we are gonna get an excellent played in Sexton IMO

Damn thought Kawhi would play. Gay still out as well

Idk it’s in Brooklyn. Could go either way

Man, you know who looks really old and slow? Pau Gasol. I can't believe he's getting $16 mil a year for two more years.

Think about all the international ball he's played plus nba games and playoff games...lotta wear and tear.

S.A. really screwed up promising him all that money in exchange for opting out...so they could sign Paul...without having Paul locked up.

When Paul didn't choose them, they still had to fulfill their promise to Gasol and now they have that contract.

If not for that deal, I would have been a little worried that LeBron may look to Pop and Kawhi as the one place where he could have a chance to compete with GS.

It's funny, I don't think he would EVER play for Pop after being in Miami. Pop would demand way too much, and even though he's shown himself capable of melding his style to his personnel, there are still core principles he doesn't bend on. I don't think LeBron would want to do anything not on his terms any more.

But what do I know.

I would have been worried, but you're right...after watching LeBron in the regular season...yeah S.A. is not a good fit...lol

Though if he truly believed that was the only way to challenge GS...maybe he makes the sacrifice and gives it a chance....though I'm not sure LeBron would ever truly believe that to be the case.

Even with the up-and-comers in the East, I just don't see how moving to the West makes sense for LBJ at all...IF, in fact, winning championships remains his #1 priority.

Winning the East, and then only having to beat 1 Western conference team, remains his best chance for another title or two.

Even if we don't attract an all-star with BKN pick at the deadline, we could be VERY WELL SITUATED to add an all-star during the draft (by trading the BKN pick after the season). Regardless of how bad things look right now, I still think the smart money is to bet on him staying with the Cavs.
