Welcome 8th Pick from Brooklyn

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Meaningless poll, but lets play....where will the pick end up after the lottery?

I'm starting to like Mitchell Robinson as a sleeper pick in the 8-10 range. Not too many true 7 footers with his handles, defensive awareness and soft shooting touch. Now, he's likely a knucklehead but maybe he's smartened up the past year or so.

7'1" with shoes, 223 pounds, with a 7'4" wingspan and 9'3" standing reach

For those like me who were unaware of his strange story here is a good recap https://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2017/9/17/16324566/mitchell-robinson-skip-college-2018-nba-draft-western-kentucky-basketball

He has an intriguing mix of range and length. Could be a pick if the cavs are stuck at 9 and determined to go for a big/ all the decent 2 way wings are gone.

Nets also won by 28 points. So they could made a lot less 3s and won.

It's gonna be 9th, and that sucks a lot. Its low enough that you start to wonder if you can actually get any star with it.

Walker, on the last year of his deal probably.

But I don't know if its enough for Beal.

If both teams had shot 35% from 3 it would've been a 1-point game (and both teams are shooting 35.5% on the season, so that's not a crazy proposition).

We have to lose one game against the Knicks.

Very unfortunate wins for the Nets. They are also better with Harris starting over the injured Carroll.

Edit: After second thought, I don't really care anymore. Whatever happens, happens.
There are good players to be had regardless, our scouting needs to do a good job and make a good selection...that's all. It sucks that I just don't have a tons of confidence.

At this point we may end up with another Khyri....:disdain (15):

There is hope if Okafor plays in the next game against the Bulls.

It is considering only one team was playing their best players. No reason for the Bulls 3rd stringers and D-League journeymen to shoot what their starters and bench players shoot.

I don't want to keep beating a dead horse, but it is entirely possible for a team to play scrubs and still shoot 35% from 3. Knicks shot 49% and 43% from 3 in their last two games, and they sure aren't meaning to win games. Would be handy if Bulls or Celtics scrubs could shoot similarly well in one of these last two games. That's all I'm saying.

The only thing we can control is the 2 games we have against the Knicks,,,if we lose both we slot at 8. I'd play the starters 2/3 quarters and then go with the Perrantes/Holland/Ojkaro 3 headed monster for the rest of the game. I really want to be in the top 8. I have these players as the definite best 8 in the draft...
Ayton/Doncic/Porter/Bamba/Bagley/JJJ/Mikal/Carter....thats my top 8...I don't want the ninth pick. Thats Trae Young/Sexton/Miles Bridges territory.

Agreed but will never happen. Lebron wants to play all 82, Lue is coaching for his job and doesn’t even have a set rotation yet before the playoffs...and our seeding is so tight we sort of need to win those games

Just a few bad breaks...tough situation

I think we are pretty much locked into 4,,have to keep an eye on that after Mondays game. Philly is not losing they have 2 easy games. I think they have the tie breaker as well so we aren't passing them. I suppose we could slip into a tie with Indy..not sure about those tie breakers. I'm not really too worried about our first round game. It is hard to know at this point who will even be able to play this week so the playoff rotations could be in flux up until the first game of the playoffs.
It is a messy situation. Even if we just drop one we can coin flip for that position.
