Why To lose to GS again. Nothing we can do will get us over GS. Probably not even Boston.

might be a good pick up

"It’s fitting then that when he played his last game for Purdue in Boston at the TD Garden in the Sweet Sixteen, that he’d finish his career as the all-time leading 3-pt shooter in school history while becoming one of the best perimeter defender in the country while making back to back all-Big Ten defensive teams. Getting better is just what Mathias does."

Another issue with Lebron taking 1+1 deals I guess. They should want to go play for a contender.

Actually some would likely rather go to crap teams so they can get minutes. Alonzo Trier from U of A went to Knicks. Malik Newman to Lakers. Some players prefer chance to win playing time over the chance to ride the pine for the year.

The best way to keep LeBron was by competing/winning with LeBron.

That series goes 6 or 7 games and I think no question he returns. Now we're counting on the Lakers to screw something up.

I'd say the best way to keep LeBron was to convince him that the 2018-19 Cavs could be better than the 2017-18 Cavs. If we had shot our wad at the deadline and still lost to GSW (likely, in my opinion) there would have been no way to convince LBJ that next season could be any better.

Holding on to that pick lets us sell LBJ on improvement -- we could not have done that otherwise.

Undrafted seniors usually find more playing time on good teams, particularly ones that lack talent at certain positions like the Cavs.

Talking about the seniors, not Alkins and Trier.

This was perfect till this part:

"This perfectly set up the Cleveland Cavaliers to deal Sexton, Hill, and Tristan Thompson for Walker and Batum, getting Cleveland their star while clear Charlotte of a long and unneeded contract."

Ya, I don't think we are taking Batum's contract and giving them Walker who is about to walk for nothing after this season for them.

I believe we would be getting their 11 pick (Bridges) as well, and then using him in a trade for another proven star (PG?).

Furthermore, you can't trade away TT and not replace him.

Yes, we can. TT sucks ass and we have Zizic.

We also have Nance and we could probably bring in a guy on vet minimum. We would probably recruit Frye to come back. I believe a guy like Thomas Robinson could fill the minutes from TT that is leftover after Nance and Zizic get their minutes.
