Welcome Emoni Bates

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Despite all the ill-advised shots Bates takes, he’s 40% for C&S this past season. We don’t have to have him generate offensively but we can get him opportunities to create spacing and length for this offense in his rookie season. There’s some positives we can utilize offensively that we need.

Tyrese Haliburton and Kevin Martin have similar start points.
Yeah just an observation, I have no personal excitement or disappointment as it’s pick 49.

If he’s one of the outliers that actually finds success in the league for the team drafted him in the late second, I’d be both scocked and grateful.

But not expecting much

Would be great to see him become an additive piece off the bench in a season or two, but not overly optimistic… yet.

Summer League will be interesting.

Exactly, stand in the corner and shoot the ball without remorse if it swings your way.

On defense, he just needs to switch everytime, offer token resistance and funnel to the twin towers.

See... i'm slowly convincing myself how this can work out.

Forgot about this but Bates likely did himself no favors by reclassifying a grade up and being a freshman at Memphis when he should have been a HS senior. Two years in college already and he’s still just 19.

The fact that he's 19 with two years of college basketball under his belt is nothing but a positive, imo.

At least the Cavs drafted a player who can make shots. Bates is problem is his natural shot making skills and all the hype prevented him from ever working on any part of his game. Always hated his game since the mix tapes. At his level of conditioning and strength I'd be amazed if he was able to ever see an NBA court. Even on our team of zero wings
