Welcome Luke Travers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He has put on size, he looks like he could genuinely play the 4. Last year was more of a SF/SG

Travers impressed me. A lot of Boris Diaw/Kyle Anderson/Joe Ingles to his game. Slow/methodical but he has a lot of sauce in his game. Crafty and knows how to play. Looks like that tweener 3/4 type wing that we need.

I know the Cavs won't bring him over this year (probably to stagger contracts of the young players) but Travers is one of those players that looks even better when you surround him with talent. He's just a great glue guy always rotating early to help on defense and making the extra pass.

Travers IQ is on another plane compared to the other G-League players. I think he can do a bit of everything and will just continue to improve.

You can't convince me he can't play 15 minutes per game on the Cavs, but perhaps it may be better for him to stay another year until we replace our coach.

I like that he played deliberately rather than frantically. He never looked rushed, and kept his head up and on a swivel at all times looking to make the right play.

Doesn't have "potential superstar" written on him. But he does look like a guy who will contribute in his role, and always play within himself. And he'll keep the ball moving, which is absolutely critical for a guy who isn't a primary option.

The question about him is if he can be a Joe Ingles type of player - a glue guy that can play defense, help the flow of offense, knock down some shots. Seems he may be developing along that line to become a good rotation player and spot starter.

Luke is a real basketball player with skills in all areas of the game. Vision, good hands, touch, a sense of where to be on the court, are all gifts that he has.

Even though he doesn't have the defensive athleticism of Okoro, I would much rather see him play and develop here with 15-20 minutes a game. He is fun to watch.

I hope Koby and most importantly JB can see how good a fit he would be on our reserves and give him a chance to develop with the Cavs. Our goal this year should be to have the best team we can be going into the playoffs, even if it costs us a couple of early wins to get there.
