Welcome to Cleveland, Richard LeCounte

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

From what I’ve gathered, he rushed his return from the injury and played in a few snaps of their Bowl game against Cincinnati. Reaggravated an injury and was about 80-90% at this pro day.

In any event, it would seem like quoting his pro day 40 and shuttle numbers is not the right call when discussing the merits of the pick.

I bet he was 50% at his pro day with those numbers not matching his game impact most of his time in college.
I doubt they would draft somebody with these numbers if they meant anything to them

Those numbers, the GPS pads numbers, definitely give me some hope. If any team was willing to use them, I'd bet on the Browns being the team that would standardize that above pro day numbers.
Most teams use them. I'd be shocked if that wasn't all, but I don't know for sure. Maybe Cincinnati refuses to pay for it :D

Pro day numbers let us fans see some info that they already knew.

It the news of him have a 90 rated speed score in game is true, with his production, I'm stunned that he lasted that long.

Very...Kareem Jackson-like

Found some good news from Tony Pauline:

In recent years, instincts have become more important in safety evaluation. Athleticism still matters. However, players can lack a few top-end traits and still provide playmaking ability and versatility with instincts. Richard Lecounte is far from an elite athlete, but he has some of the best instincts in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Lecounte always plays fast, and he can play from many different alignments. At Georgia, he was seen lining up at single-high, two-deep, and in the slot. From these positions, Lecounte has the awareness to follow the play with his eyes, and he’s measured with his aggression.

Seems like a very good fit for the personnel groupings we're supposed to be running, and at least a solid backup. That's good value at that point in the draft.

A quote that I love... "If you're not a smart football player, you being faster just helps you get to the wrong place in less time"

I hope LeCounte turns out to be good. He wasn't on my radar at all. After reading up on him, I feel like he absolutely should have been.

That being said, I still want Tyree Gillespie or Jamar Johnson. It takes me a while to break up with my draft crushes.

There is not one team in the NFL that, over the lifespan of a regime, hits at above a 20% rate on 5th/6th/7th round picks. The best teams try to go for guys that fall for explainable reasons and expect that they fail, but that a success is absolutely massive.

There is no world where LeCounte is worse than Redwine. From a process standpoint, I have no issue with this pick at all. To be honest, I have never watched him, which means I'm looking at base-level stuff and scouting reports.
