Welcome Todd Haley - Browns OC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can't fathom how anyone could possible give him the benefit of the doubt after hearing his explanation for why he didn't hire an offensive cordinator before.

What Hue negotiated is very common in the NFL in the past 20 years. I welcome everyone to research all the OC and DC who went to an unsuccessful franchise. They demand a say in the direction of the franchise. Honestly, why else leave?

The only cure to the pitchfork and torch you feel in your hand is winning. Until then, the fact that Hue is a common hire getting a common shot at being a coach who bucks the odds and turns it around will be the Frankenstein monster successfully singing Putting On the Ritz. And you will all love it's delicate success, if and when it happens...

This doesn't have anything to do with the point that was raised. I was criticizing Hue's statement as to why he didn't hire an offensive coordinator initially - that the team was so horrible he didn't to ruin somebody's career. That answer is not only indefensible, but one of the most bizarre things I've ever heard said from an NFL coach.

Second, to address the point you made...it's just ridiculous. You "welcome" us to research something it is impossible to research unless we have access to the actual contracts. That is something to which neither you, nor any of us, have access. So how are we supposed to "research" that?

Also regardless of what is in the initial contracts (which none of us can know/post anyway) the owner always has the option to fire the coach unless he agrees to modify the contract.

The only cure to the pitchfork and torch you feel in your hand is winning.

No, it isn't. I don't like Hue period - not simply because I believe he is an inept coach. Him winning games doesn't cure that. The only thing that will cure that is him being fired, which is why I will root for the Browns to lose every game until he is.

So... "Working to sign" isn't exactly flattering for the Browns. To me, that indicates he's not 100% sold on taking the job yet. Sounds like he's looking for other interviews & the Browns are trying to do with him what they did to persuade Hue.

And, I think the vast majority of us are fine with Hue going, but that doesn't seem to be an option at this point. Shit, I share the disgust. That said, it's not adding much to this discussion to lament a guy ownership seems intent on keeping for now.

I might actually have faith in this team next year. No excuse for hue to mismanage the clock now.

Todd Haley will be the Head Coach by week 5. Also Le'Veon Bell watch has now jumped to 15%

I am holding out slight hope that Hue won't be a fucking awful gameday coach when he doesn't have to worry about calling plays.

Basic things like clock management, timeout usage, challenges, etc shouldn't be as difficult now...

Assuming Bell and Haley are actually on good terms, I still doubt the Steelers let him go.

And yes, Haley likely getting a shot as HC probably has a large reason why he would take this job.

Bell skipped their playoff walk through, already told them he wants to get paid, It's Pittsburgh.

I think there should be a cynical eye cast towards Hue and the coaching staff.

HOWEVER...

I will give the Browns credit, they do have two coordinators who have had success in the NFL before. And with Dorsey as the talent evaluator...

Well, I am glad they followed through hiring an OC and getting Hue off play calling and more focused on other things. Maybe there is a chance.
