What Do You Do For Work?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So for those who have( and haven't) been following my journey I decided to get an "Entry level IT job" (~22-25$ an hour in Chicago) and work for a year or two and see what interests me. Soo far its system administration but security is hot (32% growth 2024-2034) so we shall see. I'll also attempt to obtain my CCNA this year.

There's just no other way out.

Dave, if you were good at sales why not do that? Accounting blows, and sales you can be somewhat your own boss if you are motivated enough. You don’t seem like an accountant.

Bathroom cleaner
I knew a couple of guys in college whose summer job was at Geauga Lake Park. Part of their job was to clean the bathrooms there. It sounded like it was a candidate for the worst summer job ever.

I don't want to grind 40 hours a week and call 200 people a day. Companies started making people follow horrible scripts, or stopped spending on marketing so everything is a cold call. Numbers and relaxing and analyzing is way more.my thing

Right now I have 12 sources of income and I filter through to find the easiest and most profitable work. I'm at like 1700 a week cash working 25 hours. Accounting is way more stable and id be at similar pay in 5 years should I make it that far but I think getting into it after a break would be difficult and I don't think I can actually be in an office 5 days a week, I've got some OCD/other issues that I cannot get past

I write newsletters and thank you notes for the LeBron James Family Foundation…It’s part time..

It’s rewarding and I’m vested…. Plus I discovered my passion…

My favorite college job was working as a secret shopper for a gas station chain. They paid me to visit and try to buy beer without showing ID. If I was denied, I would ask once again to see if they'd budge. If denied again, I'd just leave. If they actually sold it to me, then I'd keep the receipt and be reimbursed for the beer later.

I spent all summer driving around and getting paid and was given so much bonus beer for free.

I hear you on sales. You can most definitely do accounting remotely. Or mostly remotely.

1700 a week cash for 25 hours a week is pretty good.

I work at an auto auction nowadays... I can tell you what not to buy for sure... lol
