Re: What does it takes to get Darren Collison and Chris Bosh and some Pistons like Pr

Collison is really the only one we could get, but that would most likely involve us taking Okafor. So a Jamison for Collison/Okafor would leave our line up as Collison/Parker/LeBron/JJ/Okafor. Getting Prince shouldn't actually be that hard as they most likely would want a salary dump for him. So a Delonte/Mo/500k for Prince could work, and then our line up would be Collison/LeBron/Prince/JJ/Okafor. To get Bosh we would have no pieces left other than Parker/Telfair/JJ/Moon so we would need to use Wally to get that done. So Wally/Telfair/JJ/Moon for Bosh. That would be a huge roster over haul and it is very unrealistic.

I would be happy with just a Collison/Okafor deal personally.

I just don't see NO trading Collison. Especially at the price they have him at and the financial trouble they are in.

Re: What does it takes to get Darren Collison and Chris Bosh and some Pistons like Pr

Start a fantasy league and give yourself the first 3 picks. Then its a lock!!!!

Re: What does it takes to get Darren Collison and Chris Bosh and some Pistons like Pr

Don't give the guy such a hard time. This trade is definitely doable.

TOR gives: Bosh
TOR gets: CP3

NO gives: CP3 and DC
NO gets: Lebron James, parker

CLE gives; Lebron James, Parker
CLE gets; DC and Bosh

Why for NO: Put butts in seats
Why for Tor: Better than letting Bosh walk
Why for Cle; Chris Grant is All Together NOW

Not sure about all those guys but the Pistons are a trade partner I think could be a darkhorse.

Rip Hamilton's contract is a burden, but he's a proven winner, a scorer, and a willing defender. His name was linked to the Cavs at the trade deadline some, so it wouldn't surprise me to hear it again.

Prince next to LeBron is possibly the closest thing to Scottie Pippen you could get, except Prince is also a great spot up shooter. With Prince and LeBron on the wing the Cavs could get aggressive on defense with all that length. Prince is a smart player, good passer, and good shooter. He'd fit nicely next to LeBron. I'm not sure the Pistons trade him though.

These are the type of risky 50/50 deals that the Cavs are going to have to look at and pull the trigger on. There likely won't be any Mo, Shaq, Jamison type giveaways this offseason.

Is acquiring a guy who plays the same position as LBJ and on the wrong side of 30 really the type of deal that would induce him to re-sign?

Probably not, but Delonte's contract is basically a $9M giveaway to any team currently over the cap. That is a lot of instant money if you're a cash-strapped franchise, making it a pretty significant asset for a trade. In essence, if you add it to the $3M you're normally permitted to pay for a draft pick, it would let the Cavs pay a team $12M for a pick. That could be a very nice asset to either use, or trade with some other pieces/parts for a significant acquisition. A top 10 pick and JJ Hickson isn't a bad package.

Why for LBJ?

I believe because it's the only chance in hell we could pull this crap off.

You fail, no Prince in the deal!

I suppose so, because there's no way in hell LBJ would ever agree to go to a N.O. team that has neither Collison nor Paul.

Re: What does it takes to get Darren Collison and Chris Bosh and some Pistons like Pr

Delonte? Hickson? Jamison? Mo? Parker? Draft Picks?

I sure hella enjoy if DC can be acquired, he'd probably become a Rondo kinda player... it would be such a waste if we missed this opportunity.

in the 2 spot, we should've gotten a defensive player, stop with surrounding James with shooters, with all the problems Pistons gonna face especially playing time, this could be a nice opportunity to secure our weak guard position, pair up Prince and Moon, this would be a lockdown 2nd unit team... no more opponent comebacks in the 3rd quarter

Bosh would be the best candidate to partner James dont you think so as long as we get rid of Jamision

So out of boredom I tried this out...

Cavs Get: Bosh, Collison, Hedo, Rip Hamilton
lose: Hickson, Mo, Verajao, Green, West, Moon, Parker, Jameson

Hornets Get: Hickson
lose: Collison

Raptors Get: Mo Williams, Verajao, Green, Expirings (West, Moon, Parker)
lose: Bosh, Turkgolu

Pistons Get: Antawn Jameson
lose: Hamilton

Cavs do it to: Get Bosh, upgrade at SG, get Collison at PG to replace Mo

Hornets do it to: Trade a young PG for PF, size is an upgrade

Raptors do it to: get rid of Hedo's contract for expirings while getting a replacement at PF and a scorer at PG for a player that was going to walk anyway

Pistons do it to: Get rid of their jam at guard (stuckey, gordon, prince, daye, etc) for a bigman to help them with lack of size. Also, Jameson's contract is one year shorter so they get more cap flexibility in the future.
