Do Not Sell My Personal Information

If the Cavs win it all, what is the Ferry plan, after July 1st?

Try to get Kidd and Ariza and a possible deal for Tyson Chandler. That's what im looking to see happen.

Wait and see what happens with the Chris Bosh situation, if he doesn't sign the extension he'll be on the trading block.

If we win the championship, we could still go multiple routes. We could keep the team nearly the same with slightly significant free agent signings or we could push for some big trades.

Priorities:
-Re-sign Varejao immediately, lock him up and move on to other things
-Make an offer to Jason Kidd, if he wants to play for our bench he is more than welcome to
-Make an offer to Trevor Ariza and try to pry him from LA
-Make Ben available and possibly Pavlovic if we haven't traded him for a draft pick yet
-Use the two assets above to push trades for Shaq, Tyson Chandler, or Bosh

I think if we don't win this year, we will go for the Shaq route, but if we do win, Chandler will be a nice, young option to go with

Bosh is still a dream and always will be, and if we do get him it won't be until the deadline next year.

pretty good, dont see kidd as a possibility anymore, dallas will throw too much money at him.

I like the idea of brining in chandler, but that means we have no outside shooters in our young bigs.

Ariza is perfect, but LA cleared cap to keep him, the will go over the mle to keep him too imo..

Pavs is as good as gone, if he gets us a first round pick that would be great, he could be packaged with boobie to get chandler...ofcourse missing boobie leaves another whole to fill...but an easier whole

AV is a no brainer, also like to resign wally. He wont cut into our bae or our mle as we have his bird rights. He can sign a 2 year deal with a reasonable team option for the 2nd year. Maybe even a 3 year deal with a 3rd year team option...either way, i would like him back.

Joe Smith is gone, as we have no birds rights on him and he would take most of the mle to keep. Shame, would love to have him back for our bae.

As everyone said, my number 1 thing is to resign Andy. Number 2 is to put Ben and Pavs on the trading block.

I think we could get Ariza unless LA make a really high offer. Odom is more important to them than Ariza.

I gotta say goodbye to Kidd unless he can say no to Cuban's money.

First, I really don't see Cleveland bothering to out-bid Mark Cuban for Kidd. Cuban's going to offer more years and Kidd will stay there. That talk is all smoke and no fire.

I see the off season priorities like this--

1) Resign Varejao. If the Cavs can't get him back, then they will use the full MLE on a desperation replacement until a trade can be worked out.

2) Start shopping Sasha's partially guaranteed contract as soon as the last game is over. Teams looking to create more cap space might give up talent or draft picks to get him.

3) Bring back Wally and Joe Smith on affordable deals for 1-2 years. If they can't do that, then shop the free agent market with the MLE for some "just above minimum salary" bargains.

4) Cross fingers and hope that someone useful can come out of the draft.

Ben's contract isn't going to be valuable until next winter, but if the Nets offer Vince Carter for him, you can't pass that up.

Very nicely stated there...

If we can't get Varejao back, I reckon we'll use a part of our MLE (or the full MLE itself) to bring in Gortat or Zaza.

I don't know why, but I can see us trading Sasha for the 14th pick which is owned by Phoenix. We all know that they want to shed some cap so IMO, that move will work for the good of both teams. DeJuan Blair anyone?

I'm almost sure that Wally and Joe will accept 1-2 year long contracts so I'm not sweating over that.

My best scenario for the draft would be trading for that 14th pick and somehow drafting Sam Young with the 30th. We can hand all of Sasha's ( already nonexistant) duties to Sam Young and I think that DaJuan Blair and J.J Hickson would be a great pair at the 4 spot. With the 46th pick, I expect Danny Ferry to draft an international player and keep him overseas for a year or two.

I don't see the last part happening, wasn't it rumored the Nets were trying to get rid of him but couldn't during this last trade deadline. Supposedly the Cavs might have passed on him, so i don't know if we would revisit it if that was true.

Whatever we do, it's time to get rid of some of the older/less contributing factors like Ben Wallace, maybe Wally (although he has helped off the bench at times) and try to bring in younger replacements.

Overall the team needs to get younger, I feel. I guess we can't really expect Wallace to be gone until the next trade deadline, but I doubt Wally is kept and I'm pretty sure we still won't have enough room to sign anybody but Varejao.

To be honest, I can't see anyone wanting to replace Delonte at the 2 anytime soon, even with a better player like Vince. Delonte is really improving and he really got a high celing in my opinion.

I don't know about Chandler, dude's always injured. Also might be an attitude problem, how could he not over-achieve with CP3 on his team?

Anyway, unless hell freezes over the Clippers are taking Peter Griffin :)chuckles:), so if Memphis and OKC go retarded and don't pick Rubio, Washington are threatening trading a package that includes Rubio for Amare.

Also, this leaves Clipperland with too many bigs...I'd try to get Marcus Camby for another championship push next year.

Now, I hope OKC take Pistol Pete Jr. because it's the right pick, rest of the draft class is solid but not big-trade worthy. So that leaves the Wizards with just an average draft pick (unless they get Jennings, but he's not the real deal in terms of trading stock yet) and less of a chance to get Amare.

Does that give us a bigger chance to get him (+ goggles) than in the trade deadline? I always thought it was a pipe dream because we didn't have real good pieces to offer and it was just a salary dump for Kerr, and it seems even less likely now.

Anyway, we need a young healthy big that can take Z's place. I don't like getting yet another undersized PF so I wouldn't mind waiting until next year's trade deadline to get a good C.

You know what I am thinking is that the Clippers are going to have to trade Camby, Griffen, Kaman, or Randolph. Obviously they won't trade Friffen, they will not find a taker for and Camby they will get no value back in return for (at least IMO) because his only value is his expiring. Kaman though is where they can get value for, and if we are willing to maybe send a pick or Pavs their way maybe we can pick him up. Kaman is their best bet to get some young players or picks IMO.
