What 'Home Runs' May Become Available

i'd say he similar to g-force, in that he's a more of a slasher than shooter, except his D isn't nearly as good and he has a better jumper. i think he has the quickness and height to stay with most 2's in this league on defense.

Not at all:

this season, wallace has shot 32% jump shots and 60% close shots
jefferson has shot 74% jump shots and 21% close shots

Jefferson's jump shot is reasonable good, .447 compared to .48 for carter, .46 for Salmons, .41 for McGrady, .39 for Stephen Jackson, .35 for Wallace

The only question i have with jefferson is the size of his contract. He's really not worth $14 million a year for three years. I'd be willing to trade Szczerbiak a first, and a second for him, but i don't know if i'd send out much more than that.

I would say his defense is just as good, and his jumpshot is a whole lot better. He can guard most 2's and 3's without too much trouble.

I still don't understand why we need another guard? Z and Wallace are getting up in age, and Andy is too wishy-washy at times. We need a big, simple as that. The more I think about it the best deal might just be Wally and ? for Brad Miller and John Salmons of Sacramento.

Remember kids, think BIG for this trade deadline. Fine tune for guards later.

I'd love to get a big... i just don't think that the quality of available PFs is anywhere near the quality of available SGs.

Z and Ben are aging, sure. But they can get it done this year. Without another swing man that can play defense, I don't know that the back court of the cavs can get it done. That's why i say get a swing man first, big later.

Jefferson can bang a bit in the post, he can guard 2-4 better than Szczerbiak, and he is even shooting 40% from beyond the arc this year.

Not to mention, he has playoff experience.

If he can be had for Wally, 1st, and maybe DJ...I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Wally for Richard heads up would get it done I think. maybe a 2ed..

We also have Hickson we are fine with our bigs. Now look how are backup SG/SF's are... Pavs, Wally

Pavs and wally <<< Andy and Hickson

We need another SG/SF

aka..... G-Force, Howard, Butler, Richard

As mean as it sounds, and how bad I feel for Mike, Richard Jefferson is available now, and would be a great addition. Very good defensive player, he can score, and is a really good all around player. It's a tough choice between R-Jeff, Gerald Wallace, Josh Howard, and Caron Butler... Who ever is cheapest, I suppose?

I think R-Jeff would come the cheapest. Only because the Bucks were probably gonna get rid of Redd or RJ because of their long expensive contracts. Most likely it was gonna be Redd but with him out for the season I think they will frantically try to dump RJ in the next 3 1/2 wks (so close!, we've been waiting for so long). I don't think they'll get too many good offers with the deadline looming closer so I can see them just taking Wally and nothing else.

What? Saying something like that depends entirely on the team we're playing and the matchups we're having to deal with on a particular night. It's not clear at all that our bigs are more solid than our SGs. The Lakers are HUGE, and so are the Celts. We need to get bigger AND healthier. A four big man rotation, with Hickson as a possible fifth would be great.

Pavs didn't even play when eveyone was healthy, now he's contributing enough to put Wally's ass on the bench once we're healthy again. Although, I think we'll see Wally on American Airlines flying out of town first.

I'd much rather have Jefferson over Mike Miller any day of the week, including holidays. I would've preferred Carter then Wallace, but I'd happily take RJ without complaints.

lol good one...but im not a rj fan but will certainly take him...he can score, seems like he improved the jumper, can rebound, defend, pass, run the floor,a good finisher and soo much more....

but at the same time we need a big....i know jj is stepping up but we also have to think longterm...Z may be gone after this season, ben will be done in 2010,jj is a rookie and av isnt really a starter...so where does that leave us?

rj seems like a guy that would just fit in somehow and a ferry type guy

where is Z going at the end of this season?

He's 7'3" with a good jump shot and ridiculously long arms.... while he could always get hurt, he's one of the types of guys who could play until he's 40.

I mean, he's never elevated more than about 6" off the floor, so it's not like he's going to lose his leaps.
