Also, how does being "mum" translate to us eyeing Noah or even shopping the pick?
From what I've seen we're just trying to test the market value of these guys.

Wow... Ford said we are considering trading #1 and young players for Noah, Love or Aldridge? Are you kidding me Griffin? If we do one of those trades, Griffin should be fired immediately. That would be an embarrassment and make us look like even bigger jokes.

Just Ford saying saying we are considering trading the #1 pick in this draft for one of those guys has made me lose confidence in Griffin already. We can take HUGE steps forward as a team/organization this summer, Griffin better not screw it up.

Or Ford is an idiot that doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

That's typically been the case.

Everyone needs to prepare for a lot of crazy rumors and scenarios.

These next two months will be pretty insane.

Cavs front office has traditionally been pretty quiet on most things which fuels speculation.

I doubt it will change much with Griffin in charge.

just read this ESPN Insider headline: "Ford: Cavs mum on No. 1 pick, eyeing Noah?"

I literally laughed out loud. Does he not know how Noah feels about the city of Cleveland and how Cleveland feels about Noah?

Well we have been investing into our beach fronts on BEAUTIFUL Lake Erie...maybe JUST maybe..Noah's noticed that.

It is not his choice. If he gets traded here, he will just have to deal with it.

It's also funny how all the sources will say "they have no idea who the Cavs will select just like in 2013" as if the two drafts are even remotely similar.

The 2013 draft had maybe 2 guys who might go in the top 7-8 of this years draft(based on draft time last years, not their rookie campaigns). There was no clear cut pick for any team. There were a ton of players with injury concerns(Len, Bennett, Noel, Porter)

This year, there are 3-4 guys a lot of Scouts are calling generational guys(Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, Exum), plus guys who would have been #1 pick or top 3 candidates last year(Randle, Smart, Gordon, Vonleh)

The point being, it's not that the Cavs FO doesn't have a clue and doesn't know who to select. They are in the enviable position between selecting between three guys who would have gone #1 last year and in many recent drafts and want to take the time to get it right. But expect writers and sources to continue to frame it as "that goofy Cavs FO who just doesn't know who to pick".

Parker is 235. He weighs less than LeBron did at his age.
Trying to compare any wing prospect to LeBron James is foolish. LeBron is LeBron precisely because he's freakishly agile and athletic for someone with his frame. He has the bulk to play the five and the skills and athleticism to play on the ball. If you're expecting that out of Parker, you're barking up the wrong tree. Considering Parker hasn't shown the ability to convincingly guard wing players at the college level, it's a bit premature to claim he'll have no trouble guarding NBA wings. Contrast that with LeBron, who has shown the ability to guard the point.

Embiid, from a skills/measurables/potential point of view, is probably the best big man prospect in twenty years. He's actually bigger than Oden and Dwight. If his back was healthy this would not even be a discussion. And if his back checks out, you have to take him.

If the Cavaliers trade the #1 pick then Dan Gilbert has become the new 'master of panic.'

If the Cavs traded #1 for Love and he signed an extension then that is 1 thing... that would never happen so anyone thinking they are trading #1 are pretty foolish

I would like to remind you guys that according to "experts" last year, Bennett was an afterthought until we actually picked him. The Cavs are notoriously tight-lipped. Same goes towards the drafting of Manziel when the Browns said that they preferred Bridgewater over him(which was reported by almost every major analyst)

At this point i've learned not to even buy into what ANY of the analysts are saying, no matter their pedigree.

That being said, I am hoping that Embiid's medical concerns pan out.. As stated before in several threads, motor does matter. I can remember Kawhi Leonard being classified as a gym rat, and look how he has developed. Can anybody tell me what the evaluation is on this kid's work ethic?

Medical examination with the Cavs is scheduled for sometime this week I believe.

We're not going to trade one of our best assets for a player who has publicly stated he "hates Cleveland"...

We have been. But something tells me Griffin doesn't keep things as locked down as Grant did.

The Browns did prefer Bridgewater over Manziel. I can't believe people still talk about this. Bridgewater flatly refused to be drafted by the Browns and Jimmy Haslam pretty much made the call to go QB no matter what with the Chiefs hoping to take Bridgewater.

Their QB rankings based on stats were:
1.Bridgewater
2.Bortles
3.Manziel

though alot of people had a huge gap between Manziel and Bortles, maybe a high 3rd round grade. Which is why the pick is controversial.

The Cavs don't have this type of analysis to go through. The real tight lipped part is a possible trade.
