The Browns did prefer Bridgewater over Manziel. I can't believe people still talk about this. Bridgewater flatly refused to be drafted by the Browns and Jimmy Haslam pretty much made the call to go QB no matter what with the Chiefs hoping to take Bridgewater.

Their QB rankings based on stats were:
1.Bridgewater
2.Bortles
3.Manziel

though alot of people had a huge gap between Manziel and Bortles, maybe a high 3rd round grade. Which is why the pick is controversial.

The Cavs don't have this type of analysis to go through. The real tight lipped part is a possible trade.

Well thanks for providing evidence.

You can't refuse to be drafted by anyone in the NFL. Haslam, at least, and likely Shanahan and the QB coach, preferred Manziel. The Chiefs were targeting Manziel, not Bridgewater, which is why the Browns jumped them. If the Chiefs wanted Bridgewater they could have picked him and didn't. Did Bridgewater prefer to play somewhere other than Cleveland? Probably so. But if the Browns passed on players that preferred to play somewhere else, the draft pool would be a small one.

I'm still on the Jabari bandwagon. It's just something about this kid..

The Cavs understandably want to keep as much leverage as possible. That said, once they take a look at Embiid, and assuming he checks out medically, maybe they will signal he is their guy. Embiid seems to be moving up mock draft boards. Here are some recent mocks:

ESPN/Ford: Wiggins at 1
DX: Wiggins at 1
SI/Mannix: Embiid at 1
PBD/Kotoch: Embiid at 1
NBAdraft.net: Embiid at 1

Rumor has it that Philly really wants Wiggins. But eve assuming this is true and assuming the Cavs prefer Embiid to Wiggins, I don't know how the Cavs can use this fact to their advantage, because they can't trade down to 3 for fear of losing Embiid to Milwaukee sitting at 2. I guess they could tell Philly they will only trade if Philly is first able to move up to 2, but of course this doesn't make much sense unless Milwaukee really wants Parker and feels it can get him at 3 anyway. It's also hard to see Philly burning that many assets to execute two separate trades, one with Milwaukee and then one with Cleveland. I just think Philly calls Cleveland's bluff, if it comes to that, and stays at 3 and drafts Wiggins there.

That's why I think logically it may make sense for the Cavs to signal Embiid is their guy at 1, if he checks out physically, of course.

We can debate the big three (or two), I just don't want to see the Cavs panic to make the playoffs and trade a pick which may be a future hall of famer for another stop gap rental who leaves in a short time, putting the Cavs back to the drawing board. The only exception is if...and that's a big if...the Cavs have some reliable intel on James returning and can rely on it.

Yes I've got my boss over here claiming he's got intel: saying Cavs will trade #1 for Utah's #5 Hayward, Kanter, and Favors.

Dude clearly doesn't want BPA, he wants a bunch of chum who demands big bucks, take Randle.

Guess 76ers came out and said they want the #1 pick but don't want to use the 3 and the 10 to do it. They think the 3 and Thad Young should be enough.

Who TF in Philly is calling the shots because that shit just sounds retarded

Good thing is, they don't determine the price. We do.

For sure this Is a ploy to see If they can get one of their targets and get the 10th pick as well. In other words they need to hope Embiid drops to the third pick Or else the whole point Is moot as they need a scoring SF and a Franchise big. So basically If they love Embiid they will stand Pat. If they like Wiggins or Parker they will push the price and get Parker or Wiggins and go with with who? It makes no logical sense to make a Philly trade unless they are positive Embiid will be there at three. Also all positive reports lead me to think Embiid Is our guy based off the fact they would leak bad Info. The thing that scares me Is Kevin Love... This may be a ploy to get him and he has to have verbally commit and i hope Dan Gilbert can see a snake after the first have slithered away. So If we get love I have to have faith as he will stay otherwise this could run the team out of Cleveland.

I think out of respect it's only right to workout Wiggins and Parker.
