Outlast was a joke to me, but I was genuinely unsettled playing PT. I wouldn't say it was the best game I've played recently, mainly due to the frustrating ending, which to my knowledge no one has really figured out exactly how it works. But the mere fact that even the internet at large can't figure out the formula is crazy. I'm surprised it's not getting more hype. If you haven't heard, it's a demo for Silent Hills and is basically Hideo Kojima (MGS) and Guillermo del Toro trying to make the absolute scariest game possible with Daryl from Walking Dead starring. The graphics are maybe the best on next-gen thus far, the sound design is absurd, and the gameplay is puzzle-oriented but in a pretty abstract sense. Definitely a unique experience.
