Where My Pete Nance Fans At

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It all depends on how much better his three point efficiency improves . Same as with the Older Mobley. One of the two will be the 15 th guy on the roster
Efficiency matters less than volume to the Cavs as long as the percentage is decent. They would rather have a guy who will shoot 8 times per36 at 35% than someone who shoots 4 times per36 at 40%. The Cavs did a study according to Fedor that looked at if volume or percentage spaced the floor better and they found it was volume if the percentage was 33%+.

I have absolutely no issue with the Cavs rewarding a member of Cavalier basketball royalty, who has been working his tail off, with a couple of ten days. I actually love it. Cleveland basketball does have a legacy.

I dont think anyone should look much past it being just that though. He's unlikely to play any minutes and unlikely to get more than a couple of these deals.
My guess is they still want to give CPJ an NBA deal. 20 extra days to sign makes the cap impact for the year lower overall for that deal. It also rewards Nance, allows them to see him if they want to rest players. They do not really have any back to back games over that 20 day period, but several single day rest games. I think he could come in on the back half of a few games.

If he looks decent then I would guess they certainly would sign him to a Two-Way deal when CPJ signs an NBA deal. I do not believe the 1-day contracts count against his NBA time on the Two-Way.

Yeah I think they want to wring as much from CPJ's 2way contract as possible.

Nance went bananas in his last Charge game:

I thought he was too stiff in Summer League. Looking a little more spry.

A cheap stretch big who can defend whether it is Nance or iMobley is a huge need

think he is a better prospect than iMobley tbh
Probably better suited for the iMobley thread, but I wonder why his game doesn't translate to the NBA level as much

Foot speed at G-League for big men is a world of difference than at the NBA level.,

I've never really seen iMob as an NBA talent. Always seemed too slow and not big enough to not have an elite skill. Not sure Pete does either.

Yeah, in the G League you don't have to deal with speed demons like Kevin Love and Georges Niang.

In the NBA, you either have speed, extreme length or shooting...the latter are shooters. Niang's only NBA skill is shooting.

Its not me saying Pete Nance isnt an NBA player yet, he went undrafted, no one gave him a 2-way contract, and he was given a 10 day because we had to sign someone and decided to thank him for his hard work. Basically every GM in the NBA says he isnt an NBA level player.

But I will be rooting for him, i love the entire Nance family for sure.

If you ain’t fuckin with Pete Nance you ain’t fuckin

I remembered looking at an analytics site that had Pete Nance as the 77th ranked prospect in the 2023 draft with Emoni at 54th and Craig Porter Jr. as 89th.

So either the Cavs crushed the end of this draft, these sites blew it, or a little of both.

In 2023 we conquered the summer league, eventually we conquer the Eastern Conference.
