Where we are currently at with the trading situation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i just dont think that 1) the clippers are into dealing Kamen and 2) he fits into what Ferry is thinking long term

I think the plan is to trade for Camby and then dangle Ben and some other assets for a guy like Bosh next year and still have Camby as our defensive big man (and he is still expiring in 2010 as well)

maybe I am wrong...I wouldnt be too upset with Kamen I am just not sure he fits our plans as much as Camby does

I would love Kaman because he could be a Z like player. He is a proven big, he is just a little prone to injury. He's been out since early-mid december.
Still, molding him into Z could be one of the things that keeps Bron here.

With Elton Brands contract......I do NOT see us getting him at all. Were not gonna take a 5 year 13 mil deal from a player that is 30+ years old.

and another update. You can pretty much cross VC off the list because he sprained his ankle the other day.

i think that if we could get Brand without selling the farm then Danny would do it but it seems unlikely

that leads to Marcus Camby being the guy that makes sense for not only this year but also next with his defensive prowess and contract flexibility

AV and Camby coming off the bench for Ben and Z in the playoffs is going to be a sick rotation... not to mention JJ (cause no way Danny gives him up)

I actually think Brand is a more likely option than Camby.

The Sixers have a reason to trade Brand: he doesn't mesh with the team AT ALL and he's owed a large chunk of change over the next few years.

The Clippers, on the other hand, don't NEED to trade Camby. He's not a long term deal, he's playing well and he's not uber-expensive. Plus, they don't have a lot of "dead weight" Brian Cardinal type deals they could package with the Camby-man (the only players making 'big' money are Davis, Randolph, Kaman and Camby with the only other guys with long term contracts are Gordon and Thornton). Basically, the Clippers could use the capspace, but Wally doesn't save them a whole lot, because Camby is only on the books for another season.

By picking up Wally for Brand, the Sixers would save a ton of money over the 4 seasons (and quickly wipe out that mistake) while commiting to a style that actually works for them (no shooters, lots of running).

I'd love Camby and he's definitely the safer pick up, but if the Cavs have to throw in a 1st or young guys, I'd rather they get Brand who will at least be around for a bit.

I am with you on the Brand Bandwagon Benny.... I am just not sure if Philly jumps off that ship in the 1st season or not...

everyone hating on Brand would have been freaking out if we could have signed him over the past summer... the guy is a great fit here

just not sure if we can pull it off

Brand sounds like crazy talk, but who knows. I'd definitely have my concerns with him though.

I don't care that it's Elton Brand, Ben wouldn't be happy coming off the bench. And 2nd, that contract is LONG. Plus, having him for such a long time would mean JJ won't get as much PT to progress.

Iguodala FTW, but yeah right

Man, that Bosh talk makes any other option sound crap. So who's left?

Richard Jefferson is a possibility, as long as Milwaukee keep sucking. Would only deal Wally for him as I don't actually see him being a huge upgrade over we got.

Brand could be available possibly. But we'd have to be sure we'd want him. A few issues come with getting him.

Crossed off Gerald Wallace, Vince and Mike Miller. There will be tons more options we haven't heard mentioned.

I think that especially with Pavlovic starting for us lately (regardless of the injuries) may be partially to increase his value for trade. It would have made just as much sense to start wally after west got injured, and his value is based on his expiring, so starting him would have made little to no impact on his trade value.

Also, the upper management might not have forgiven Pavlovic for his holdout so easily, but who really knows.

Well you can officially cross Elton Brand and probably Chris Bosh (sprained knee) off the list. I highly doubt we will sell the house for a guy like Amare so to me the guy I really think we should go for thats left is Marcus Camby. 1st in blocks in the Nba, second in rebounds (13). Thats the kinda of guy I want enforcing the middle, adding to the depth of our bigs, and bringing his defensive player of the year type defense to a already number one Cavs defenisve team.

I don't know about Bosh being done. He walked off on his own, so it could be alright for the deadline.

Guys, if Toronto trades Bosh I would be stunned... Why trade him when you can do it over the summer around draft time or next deadline and get the absolute best package for him ?? as opposed to a knee-jerk trade right now without throughly thinking it through ??

Regardless of his 2010 standing and the fact that it's pretty well known he's gone, I doubt the Raps really take pennies on the dollar at this point because they can always fall back on that when it's time to jump ship...

Wake me when Camby is a Cavalier. This is the only thing on my radar right now.
