Who is your most forgotten Cavalier

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm going to not follow the rules and instead of one, I'm going to post 3

There was a team that gave my teenage Cav loving heart hope during the darkest times. It was the second or third Randy Wittman season when I finally came to terms with us being in the cellar after back to back playoff coaches in Lenny and Fratello that always competed. There was a team that Wittman, like JBB, would accidentally put on the floor and they could compete with ANYONE in the league at the time. Didnt matter if the starters were down 20, they'd come roaring back.

Many of you affectionately remember them as the "Zoo Crew"

The lynchpin, to me, was this guy... journeyman and swiss army knife who off the bench would provide a valuable offensive hub as a back to the basket OR faceup mid post threat, Chris Gatling

Then there was the steady presence all season who would come in for rookie (or 2nd year, cant rmeember) Andre Miller, Bimbo Coles. When Bimbo came in, he just made the right play and steadied the offense. Miller would sometimes "assist-hunt" but Bimbo similar to Rubio, made the right play 10/10. I just thought he was a JAG from watching him compete against us in Golden State and Miami, but once he got to the Gund and became the Zoo Crew Herder, I came to truly value those veteran backup PG's

Lastly, there was Robert Tractor Goddamn Traylor (RIP). He gets mentioned last because he was the least dependable but he was the most impactful when he was contributing to winning basketball, kinda like Cedi but 100 lbs heavier and a true emotional rollercoaster. He moved bodies around and bullied guys from the moment he entered a game.

Those were the 3 main members of the "bench" Zoo Crew, but Wittman would accidentally leave a couple of his starters out there with them and when he got the right recipe of two starters with those three (it was usually Harpring when healthy and whichever scoring starter was hot between Murray, Person or Spoon) you had one of the most entertaining on any given night against any given matchup units in the whole NBA

Kevin Johnson
Deng
Antawn Jamison

I spend a lot of time and energy trying to forget that Jamison trade and have been pretty unsuccessful.

I was really pushing for that trade and then he went 0-11 FG in his first game. He had some decent games, though.

If you were a Cavs die hard in the late-80s into early 90s, you know the magic of injury replacement combo guard Steve Colter.

He was a backup guard in the mid 1980s with the nastiest crossover Isaiah Thomas ever saw. He played overseas for three seasons, then injuries hit the 1994/95 Cavs back court hard. Terrell Brandon, Mark Price, and John Battle were all hurt. Gerald Madkins was terrible. So Wayne Embry grabs Colter out of a barnstorming CBA league that would soon fold. He looked like he couldn't afford a decent meal in his time away from the NBA. This skinny dude way past his prime was still shaking NBA All Stars with his "crooked leg" crossover.

I should forget Steve Colter, but I won't forget Steve Colter. He was a pioneer of Kyrie's amazing bag of ball handling tricks.

I kinda thought you might choose the 22nd pick in the 1988 draft.

I feel like we went thru a whos who of NBA scrubs in the pre-LeBron/early LeBron 2000s. Those teams had Andre Miller but also had some all time stiffs like Chris Mihm, Scott "Do Drugs" Pollard, and Smush.
