Who is your most forgotten Cavalier

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jimmy Oliver played at Purdue while I was there. I loved his game, not as a pro, but he was a great college player
Same here. We were probably at Purdue at the same time. I was there from 89-93.

I was there from 90-95, then stuck around till 2001 bartending on campus, lol, My good friend is still the general manager at Harry's....so all these years later and I could still get a free drink on campus. Cant believe they closed Neon Cactus, McCaw's was my favorite before they moved everything down the levee to Cactus.

Joe Smith and Samardo Samuels are the two that come to mind.

Just looked up the roster of the 1971-72 Cavs. Saw Luther Rackley’s name on it. I had forgotten that Luther Rackley was a Cavalier. He shall be designated my “Most Forgotten Cav”.

I'm going to not follow the rules and instead of one, I'm going to post 3

There was a team that gave my teenage Cav loving heart hope during the darkest times. It was the second or third Randy Wittman season when I finally came to terms with us being in the cellar after back to back playoff coaches in Lenny and Fratello that always competed. There was a team that Wittman, like JBB, would accidentally put on the floor and they could compete with ANYONE in the league at the time. Didnt matter if the starters were down 20, they'd come roaring back.

Many of you affectionately remember them as the "Zoo Crew"

The lynchpin, to me, was this guy... journeyman and swiss army knife who off the bench would provide a valuable offensive hub as a back to the basket OR faceup mid post threat, Chris Gatling

Then there was the steady presence all season who would come in for rookie (or 2nd year, cant rmeember) Andre Miller, Bimbo Coles. When Bimbo came in, he just made the right play and steadied the offense. Miller would sometimes "assist-hunt" but Bimbo similar to Rubio, made the right play 10/10. I just thought he was a JAG from watching him compete against us in Golden State and Miami, but once he got to the Gund and became the Zoo Crew Herder, I came to truly value those veteran backup PG's

Lastly, there was Robert Tractor Goddamn Traylor (RIP). He gets mentioned last because he was the least dependable but he was the most impactful when he was contributing to winning basketball, kinda like Cedi but 100 lbs heavier and a true emotional rollercoaster. He moved bodies around and bullied guys from the moment he entered a game.

Those were the 3 main members of the "bench" Zoo Crew, but Wittman would accidentally leave a couple of his starters out there with them and when he got the right recipe of two starters with those three (it was usually Harpring when healthy and whichever scoring starter was hot between Murray, Person or Spoon) you had one of the most entertaining on any given night against any given matchup units in the whole NBA

I saw Bimbo Coles when I was a kid at the Westlake D&B. My dad asked if I wanted his auto and I said no.

That D&B was a terrific place to meet players- I met Eric Snow, Z, Johnny Peralta there.

Anyway, mine is Chris Mihm. He was my second favorite Cav behind Kemp because he gave me a high five when I was six and got to go into area just outside of the locker room. I thought he was great (he was never even passable).

Chuckie Williams. 1st rounder in 1976, 15th overall. People that think Windler doesn't get much playing time should check out the career stats of this guy.

That was the last #1 pick the Cavaliers kept until the 1987 draft. That's right, we went ten seasons in a row without using our own #1 because we traded our picks for studs like Elmore Smith, Gary Brokaw, and Terry Furlow - and those three were before Stepien.

I gotta go with my dude Lamond Murray. He and other selfless heroes like Wesley Person and Ricky Davis eventually led to some high draft picks including my Least Forgotten Cav.

I clearly have a lot of forgettable ones since this is my third post (so far) in this thread, but how about some love for LeBron James's best impersonator Demetris Nichols

Ummm I don’t think you forgot that one. Had me really searching my memory banks trying to think if that actually happened.

Shawn Marion is a really good answer.
It was a joke.....but Yes. Marion would have been a good one.

Darius Miles....Ricky D.....Ricky Rubio....Wally Z....Joe Smith....Luke Jackson.....Dajuan Wagner.....Sebastian Telfair....Shannon Brown....David Wesley.

No gonna lie, I was pretty pumped for "The Messiah". Also wanted Telfair when he was on that Hoops Mag in high school. Also wanted Shannon Brown when I saw him do that 360 Statue of Liberty Dunk in the HS Dunk Contest.....Also pumped for Mles too....really pissed when we took Luke Jackson....pissed Igudola went one pick before....oh what could have been......damn....the memories.

All Star SF Mike Mitchell spent his first few seasons as a Cav before Ted Stepien gave him away to the Spurs in 1981. Mitchell was probably the 2nd best SF to play for the Cavaliers.

I would also mention Roy Hinson except that Wayne Embry was able to trade him for the #1 pick in 1986 which turned out to be Brad Daugherty.

Darius Miles....Ricky D.....Ricky Rubio....Wally Z....Joe Smith....Luke Jackson.....Dajuan Wagner.....Sebastian Telfair....Shannon Brown....David Wesley.
I have absolutely no recollection of Telfair in a Cav’s uni. Dajuan Wagner, always blows my mind, I can picture him in the uniform, but I just can’t remember him playing with Lebron. I’m like, ’did that really happen?’ :conf (5):
