Who should we get in the draft?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is really hard for me to say because it would be a great feel good story after all the bullshit that has happened this season, to make the playoffs, but it is within the best interest of the Cavs to get a really high pick in the draft and have our pick between Barnes, Jones, Irving, Kanter or someother really talented player. Jamison will most likely be traded for whatever we can get for him and after you trade him we literally have the same team we have been watching in preseason. Mo isn't going to be that much of a difference maker that we will still make the playoffs so we will most likely be in the lottery and the thing with that is if we are going to be in the lottery we might as well make it better for us in the long run and try to get a really high pick so we get talent and not just some guy who is a fringe starter. The way I see it is we have Sessions as our PG, Boobie could be our off the bench hot scorer, JJ(with some more seasoning) will be our PF and fringe all star. Depending on the types of offers we get for Andy he may get dealt but he will only get dealt for a young piece that can be in our future plans. Mo isn't in our future plans and if he is, he shouldn't. I got much love for the guy but he could net us a nice draft pick or young player and he is more valuable to a playoff team than a lottery team.

You also have to look at it like this, our front office was renovated. Chris Grant is known as a good drafter. Also with some of the other guys we got for the front office, they have a history of having successful drafts. That sort of seems like a sign that we may be looking to build through the draft. IDK, I've been thinking that since reading about Wes Wilcox and David Griffen being good drafters.

I think we need to have a 2 year system. For the next 2 years we need to build our own big three from the draft. This season we need to try as hard as we can to get a top 2-3 pick so we can get Barnes or Perry Jones. The next draft I believe a promising big is going to be available Andre Drummond and another promising player in Quincy Miller should be available. We have this great opportunity that we can't let slip away. Even if we tried our hardest, we most likely will not make the playoffs so we need to build this team the right way from the draft and do it the OKC way.

LOL, how does a team TRY to get a higher pick? Trading what talent we have and hope we suck? Yo Scott, were going to trade our talented vets and it's up to you to suck enough with that talent left over... Not sure if that conversation will go over to well with the coach and the young talent still left on the team. I know if I played on a team with a goal to suck in hopes that some rookie rides in on his white horse to save the day, I would demand a trade ASAP!

Known by whom?? LOL Dude has never drafted anybody let alone known for being good at it. Just a ridiculous statement

Well you figure once/if we trade Jamison and Mo, we will struggle to score enough to win games. It's within the teams best interest to plan for the future and not for 3 years of mediocrity.

I may be wrong but this isn't as ridiculous as you posting about your "source" telling you Chris Paul would be a Cavalier along with Lefuckface by summers end.

Perry Jones is my favorite as of now...we'll see in a few months.

I have concerns about Jones, especially if he's deadset on being a power forward. Every time I see him I think "tall, lanky, can shoot and rebound.....fits the Kevin Durant mold".

He'll have to legitimately dominate this season to get that kind of hype though.

Still think Barnes is the odds-on favorite for #1 and for good reason, but nothing is a lock. Also think Sullinger will drop far on the draft board...late first without injuries, 2nd round if he gets injured.

Really intrigued by the crop of Euros. Motiejunas is my favorite.

I love how people are labeling guys as busts or stars without them even playing one college game. Please stop acting like you have seen these guys play at all, let alone enough to know how good they are going to be.

You mean these posters don't actively scout high school games across the country and report their findings to RCF? All this time I was a fool for believing them...

:chuckles:

I've watched 68 of Barnes's HS games and I just don't like what I've seen...

Curious for personal reasons, were you there to actually watch Barnes play and analyze his game, or were your merely there to lure 15 year old girls back into your van?
