Did I miss anyone? Or anyone on here that has signed somewhere?
Cavs have only the BAE or Vet min to offer, before people throw out names of RFAs or expensive people, please keep that in mind.

I'd like Joe Smith back, but if MB isn't going to play him, is it really worth it?

I'd also like to see some sort S&T to bring in Warrick. I don't know a whole lot about his D but nothing MB and the staff couldn't fix.

Maybe this is the wrong thread, but I am assuming the (P) after player's names stands for a "player option". What is the difference between that and an ETO? Both seem like the same thing to me....

I like Mikki Moore if we can't get Joe Smith..

Very good mid-range game, active defender, can play PF/C, good guy, etc..

Don't really like Warrick and Powe doesn't fit even though I'd take a flier..

Not sure if it's another big or a guard, not likely a wing type guard though.

As for bigs, I don't think the Cavs are getting a starting PF out of this group even though that's what some fans are clamoring for. It's just not going to happen for the BAE or a vet minimum deal, plus there really isn't anyone like that out there.

If the Cavs decide they need a body at center given the age of their 2 centers here are some names.

Two young bigs available in Robert Swift and Johan Petro. Neither has been anything close to impressive, but both are still only 23 years old and 7 feet tall. So they could fill a roster spot and maybe one day be serviceable.

An interesting name to me is Adonal Foyle. He's an old role player but known as a intelligent and smart player and a good guy to have around. As a 15th guy he might not be a bad option if there came a time Shaq or Z got hurt and the Cavs needed a body. It's possible he could also be a decent option if the Cavs ran into Dwight Howard again in a 7 game series. Not a sexy name, but maybe not a bad guy to have around.

At PF one interesting name is Ike Diogu. The guy never seems to play, but when he does he is productive. He can be a load in the paint and on the block. Part of the reason he struggles to get on the court is his defense. At 6-8 he's one of these PF's around the NBA that everyone says is "undersized" even though there are 6-8 PF's everywhere in the NBA.

Former Buckeye Othello Hunter is 6-8 225 and has a game a little like Ben Wallace. Lots of NBA guys like his athleticism and how active he is. Still only 23.

Rob Kurz is a decent option. A little like another former Golden Domer, Pat Garrity. Although not the shooter Garrity was, Kurz is a decent option with some skills.

Shelden Williams? Brother-in-law is now a Cav, is a Duke guy. As an end of the bench guy who can bang down low a little, not a bad option. Always been active ont he glass guy who plays hard.

If the Cavs go with a guard, maybe taking a look at Sean Singletary isn't a bad idea. Not a pure point, he could be a fit on a team with LeBron James and others who can handle the ball. Good shooter with a quick release and not afraid to take tough shots. Like I said, definitely not a pure PG, but could maybe turn into an Eddie House type, especially on the right team.

Luther Head is a guy who doesn't stand out but does a lot of things pretty well. 6-3 guy who can shoot the 3 pretty well, decent ball handler decent passer. Not sure he's looking for an end of the bench role though.

Group of veteran PG's like Brevin Knight, Anthony Carter, and Jacque Vaughn. All are old and lack jumpers. Tyronn Lue is more of a scorer and less of a pure PG, he is also getting up there in age.

Royal Ivey is 27 and has stuck around the league because of his ability to defend and defend both the PG and SG positions. He's not an efficient offensive player at all, but is a tad better shooter than most give him credit for. He's a tough guy who has some versatility and a more than willing defender - sounds like a Mike Brown kind of guy. Wouldn't be shocked to see his name mentioned. I mean this team did start Eric Snow for a few years who makes Ivey look like Pete Maravich.

Kareem Rush is a deadly 3-point shooter but still takes too many bad shots. He would actually be a better option if he would just realize his role as a spot up 3 point specialist. Cavs are loaded on the wings though, so not sure where he would exactly fit.

Morris Almond is still only 24 and has shown some scoring ability in the D-League after showing the same skills at Rice. He's 6-6 but not overly athletic and has had issues with turnovers.

Just a look at some of the less "sexy" names out there.

Robert Swift and Johan Petro.

Rob Swift was a beast defensively in College right? I remember him averaging something crazy like 6-7 blocks per

Straight outta high school kid. Probably should've went to college, was a USC signee.

Barely played his first year, then showed a few flashes his 2nd year. Looked like the Sonics starting center his third year and ruptured his ACL in a pre-season game.

Sat the whole year, came back the next and then tore his meniscus.

Dude definitely has some baggage and has yet to prove he can stay healthy at all. He has some serious ink going on though, so that would be one benefit.

Mikki Moore? This guy that got into spats with Varejao/Sasha when the Nets were decent enough to make the playoffs?

The guy that signed with the Kings, averaged a whopping 8 pts, 5 rbs as a starter on a dead end team, and eventually waived before his contract was up?

The guy that eventually tried to latch on to the Celtics to heal the KG wounds, only to get supplanted in the rotation by Brian Scalabrine?

Sorry to sound so crass, but that dude is a bum... Even for the 15th man on the rotation.

Warriors Waive Davidson

The Golden State Warriors have waived forward Jermareo Davidson, the team announced today. Davidson, 24, appeared in 14 games last season for Golden State, averaging 3.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 7.9 minutes per contest. He originally signed the first of two 10-day contracts with the Warriors on January 5, 2009, and was subsequently signed for the remainder of the season on January 25, 2009.

Jermareo was waived. He'd be a nice back up and is still young, only 25.

I know he may be redundant but you gotta take a look at Flip Murray to see if he wants back at all...

I swear some of you guys like anyone.

With the roster as is, we are looking at a guy to fill a spot far down on the bench anyways. If that's the case, its not like the difference between Hakim Warrick, Joe Smith, and Othello Hunter, etc. is going to be the ultimate difference.

I would be happy with a talented and young stretch 4, but if it doesn't happen I am happy with the roster as it stands.

A guard who can't play defense? Why on Earth do we need one of those?

I loved the Flip, thought he played pretty solid defense in his half-year here. Thought he was judged more on reputation than performance. That said, bringing him in would probably do more harm then good when he found himself buried in the rotation and became moody. Also can't really shoot, which has become an essential trait if you want guard minutes here.
