Why do all these people at CF want all these old players?

I imagine fans at sites like CF bring up players like TMac and Hill because they'd like to have somebody on the team they've actually heard of, or are somehow under the belief we're just a turn-back-the-clock season away making the playoffs or something.

I used to get all excited about a Cleveland team signing a has-been star when I was a kid too ...

I really dont see the downside of the idea of signing an older player for a low contract who wont be expecting to play more than 20 minutes a game. O can see why some might have objections to specific individuals but the overall concept isnt as ridiculous as some choose to make it out to be.

The downside is that the vet is taking 20 minutes away from someone who might actually be on the team when they get good again, so it's the upside for the specific vet which has to be defined clearly. Albeit selling tickets does have it's place too.

Vets will be aquired regardless if the team is rebuilding or playing for contention as we have seen the only difference is that in rebuilding mode they have to include a draft pick instead of trading it away for the player.

I bet the heat find a way to get T-mac, I would be fine with that because It would a sure thing the heat never win a ring or make it past the first round! Grant Hill would make sense actually but He wont leave Pho as someone else said
