Why do all these people at CF want all these old players?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lmao. You really just said that the Cavs are not rebuilding? Wow!

Let's just face it, the Cavs are rebuilding. That's been clearly shown through out the trades we've make.

We are in rebuilding mode. And will be for another 1 to 2 years maybe.

When you have the talents of Gee, Haragody, Hollins and Samuels you dont need to rebuild. Just add a few minor pieces to make us contenders again.

It does take the right mixture of youth and veteran talent to get to the next level. But the wrong vet can do more harm than good as well especially with a long bloated contract. I would like to see Tyson Chandler if any free agents are signed and not some washed up has been.

Cavs traded hickson to get a player who can contribute now in their scheme in the form of casspi.

mo williams was traded for an equivalent value point guard who was older that netted a first round draft pick.

Parker was kept for the rest of the season to help the current roster as opposed to let go for a 2nd round pick.

The roster itself is aligning into a position where young talent has to earn their way on the court not just have it handed to them.

most of all the term rebuild is a matter of attitude. neither Scott Grant or Gilbert is going to accept losing. they are going to go out there with what they have and do their utmost to be competitive and win games. They dont want to go out and suck and have it deemed accceptable because they are "rebuilding".

Last year was a transitin year plagued with injuries. this year will be one of development for quite a few key positions. The lineups and rotations will still be seet to what gives the cavs the best chance to win on any given night.

New coach, New GM , new players. the cavs are building their foundation. they are making moves that make sense and improve a team

The cavs retained 5 players from their finals team.
That team retained 9 players
the following team retained 6 players.
Last years team ended the roster with 5 guys remaining from the previus roster.

This years Cavs look to retain at least 9 players.

thats an 66% turnover from the Finals team the very next year.

meanwhile last years final roster is looking to retain 66% of its previous year roster.

whats this means is roster overhauls dont mean shit. Cavs have the same objectives as they did after going to the finals as they do now. improve the team only this time they dont have to get younger. they have done that.

if calling it a rebuild makes you feel better and allows you to root for good players to get traded away by all means do so but dont be surprised if the cavs do things that dont fit within you definition of what a rebuild team should do

Gilding the lily and not with real gold but fake dollar store paint.

I heard M.J. can still dunk.

?

so why did the cavs look at him last year?

the only people who would be concerned about signing a veteran player who can still perform at a good price would be those with the agenda of wanting to see the cavs with the worst record possible. to get a higher pick.

From what I understood the cavs didnt make an offer to mcgrady last year because of concerns about his health. not his mental health.

so your saying Irving would be better served learning how to pass the ball to the right spots surrounded by guys with hardly any NBA experience.

You think Bird didnt benefit from having a rookie season surrounded by seasoned quality players?

whats nonsense is saying a guy just because he has been an all star in the past wont come to play in cleveland or that the Cavs wont target the exact kind of player they stated themselves they were looking at. not everyone roster transactions needs to be for the long term.

Lol...take it easy man. Don't you think there's a little bit of a difference between the Cavs signing a guy like TMac and Bird playing with guys like TinyArchibald, Cedric Maxewell, Dave Cowens, and Pistol Pete, three of which are in the hall-of-fame? TMac is toxic for a young team like this.

I'm down for singing Bill Walton.

We can always sign T-Mac to mentor our younger players on how to get hurt and collect paychecks on the bench.

I'd come back for the right price.. I'll give a call to Dr. Andrews this week... THROW IT DOWNNN

I always get irritated when people complain about Bill Walton as an announcer back in the day. It's always the same reasoning that he "had no idea what he was talking about," or that "he made ridiculous claims."

Bill Walton was essentially a troll as an announcer and I used to love it. The ridiculous claims and comparisons that he'd make with players and specific plays during the game were part of his greatness. He's still one of my favorite announcers of all time. It seemed like 9/10 people hated him as an announcer.

There are innovators, imitators, and then the plain stupid... Bill Walton announced in his own specific sound, style, and charisma. I cannot speak to how much praise i had for him as an announcer.
