Wild Speculation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Darren Collison better continue to play at an all-star level...would obviously make it an easier pill for the people of New Orleans to swallow.

Word....He can flat out play and i still cant figure out how they're managing to win games w/out cp3

But honestly, i rather look for a star big-man...If we can get that locked on with lebron and mo that would be some shit..But what options are possible other than bosh and amare?

If we can get cp3, i'll take it and run...Its just scary to think of another star player being able to run this team and score...I just wander how lebron would adjust to cp3

This off-season will be something to look forward to...There will be a lot of good players who i will like to have here

Just look at the Olympics. LeBron was playing with CP3, Williams, Wade, Kobe, Melo, etc and there was no problem with the team. LeBron was still able to be ball dominant playing with other guards that have at least equal talent to his as a PG. LeBron was still able to be in the top 5 in every category on that Olympic team, I doubt that he and CP3 would have any problems because they are both such willing passers. Hell Lebrons scoring may not even go down as Mo scores almost as much as CP3 does.

His value will increase, but only slightly - certainly not enough to be involved in a trade for any star type player.

If a team trades a star (let alone a superstar) for Jamison, that will just lengthen their time on the "treadmill of mediocrity," as you put it. They look for useful talent...not 34-year-old-with-two-years-left talent.

lol, Indiana wouldn't trade Granger for Al Jefferson....Granger isn't coming here.

Like I said, I think Gay is the dark horse and the most likely possibility. He's still not all that likely...and we don't even know if the Cavs are interested in him.....but he's a hell of a lot more attainable than the superstars for what we have to offer. I'm pretty sure he'd be fine with the sidekick role if he was getting max money and playing on one of the few elite teams in the league.

Mo/Gay/LBJ/Jamison/Shaq with Boobie, Varejao, Z, Green, and two of AP/Delonte/Moon coming off the bench? Yes, please. Even include Green if necessary.

We don't have close to enough pieces to get the "ideal fit," though. Sure, I'd love to get Howard here.....he's the ideal fit. But it's not possible, and there aren't tons of big men available for what we can offer without blowing up the team.

Yeah Gay is very intriguing. And of course we don't know if the Cavs are looking at him but he would be a great addition because he would be worth only half of his true monatary value as a S&T. We would obviously have to include multiple expirings for him Parker/West/Moon and of course Hickson.

There are 4 players in the league that, when healthy and playing to their abilities, that are head and shoulders above anyone else. Those 4 are, Lebron, Wade, Paul, and Howard. Especially given how young Paul is, if you can find a way to add him to Lebron, you do it. Lebron and Paul would win 50 games together if the rest of the roster was made up of D-League players. Even after trading several significant pieces, with the collection of talent the Cavs would still have left, you'd be looking at a modern day dynasty. I don't like to hype xbox style trades, but such a deal would be Cleveland sports heaven.

Really where is Kobe and Melo?

A star big fits better and I'd "rather have one" too than CP3...but, it's fucking CP3. if we can get him, and I know it wont happen but IF we can...you do it 500 times out of 10.

But getting CP3 is a waste if LeBron doesn't sacrifice a LOT of ball handling. If LeBron isn't willing to let CP3 control the ball the majority of the time (and that wouldn't surprise me)....then we might as well move on to a different option. That different option would be significantly cheaper, too.
Really where is Kobe and Melo?
and Durant.

Where is the photoshopped CP3 in a cavs uni at???
:chuckles:

Think that this summer is one of the biggest for LeBron even if he re-signed with Cleveland right now. This summer as the Cavs try and get a long term side kick for LeBron this decision will mold LeBrons future. If the Cavs get a post guy like Bosh LeBron will go down as one of the best triple threat machines the league has ever seen. If the Cavs got a guy like Paul LeBron could go down as one of the best scorers the league has ever seen.

It's nice to hear... and I guess it should be expected at this point... that the ownership is going the extra mile to make this team better. Regardless of who we get, it will be a blockbuster - don't think that going back for Amare isn't an option, Chris Paul is feasible... I'd like for us actually to go for David Lee... if we can have LeBron convince the Knicks to sign and trade him to us. Dude would be a perfect fit for us - beast on the boards, silky mid range jumper.

I'll stay focused on the season at hand though, much more entertaining seeing last season's offseason come to fruition.

 huh, how's he gonna manage to do that?

Alright, I deserve a b*tch slap for shamelessly re-posting this, but everything W&G said in this thread is music to my ears

I'm actually glad we got Telfair and it wouldn't surprised if Ferry and Gilbert feel the same way for this reason:

2.7 million is a great chip for next years trade, vested in a player who will have no impact on our season next year, and therefore will leave no void or negative impact when we deal him in the offseason or more likely at the trade deadline next year.

So for next year, if there is a team similar to WAS this year that needs to get under the luxury tax and lose a contract they no longer want, we have chips(Telfair, Jackson, Eyenga, Parker and/or Moon even) to pick up a salary dump player.

If a team wants to avoid luxury tax and has an under 30 stud PF or C, we base a package around Hickson and some of the above chips.

If NO is struggling to win, Paul becoming restless, we give NO replacement talent (Mo) + money saving with some of the expiring chips.....even if they want to unload Peja to do the deal, we could do it salary wise( Mo, AP, Jamario, Telfair+)

Its clear Ferry understands that we will never be under the cap enough to sign a significant FA other than our own. So he keeps adding these chips(w the support of Gilbert) to always have us be a key player in the trade market.

Kudos to our management. It can not be argued that we have Top 3 management and ownership in the NBA

I know CP3 is one of the greatest point guards of all time, and he's a great friend of LeBron, but I don't see how he makes this team better. LeBron already has the passing ability of the top-7 or 8 PGs in the league. I don't think another superstar guard would be the best option because the Cavs' frontline is pretty offensively challenged (besides Jamison, but who knows how much longer he'll last). I would be very happy if we could sign a great defensive center for the MLE (Haywood), and then make a Jamal Crawford-type trade to get a big bench contributor. Or instead of a 6th man, get a stud PF like STAT. So in my opinion, CP3 isn't the best option. It's always a good move to add All-Star talent, but it might not be the most effective.

Parting with Mo is something I'd do in an instant for Paul, but man, it'd be bittersweet. I like him a lot. At some point, all this wheeling and dealing of players, the team becomes like a revolving door. We've been trading garbage players who barely contribute (Sasha, Ben, etc) but once you start dealing big time contributors who are loved by the fans...like Mo...it'll get tough. :(

But for Paul, you do it every time.
