Will RCF be able to survive trade deadline?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I remember Amare gate last year, and being shut out for an entire night. It also happened after the Jazz game on the road a few weeks ago. I did not have any problems today though. Does anyone know how many users the site can hold? I have a feeling fEB 18 is going to be crazy!

Could have been our data center having a problem. Nothing I have seen in the logs indicates a user spike that would have caused an issue.

Ben it wasnt like a normal crash. this was just random during the day. in fact most of the hoopla about Mo was pretty much over with, by at least an hour. I think this was just a random server thing nothing to do with users.

actually if i had to venture I would guess the site right now is experience much more (twice) as much traffic as it was when the site went down.

server hiccup

That's weird. I wonder if anyone else is getting this? I don't think I am. Are you SURE it's only happening to RCF?

Yes, so far only on RCF. It just started yesterday. I've been on a lot of different websites, and it only happens from RCF.

Yesterday and today, I did a full scan with Malwarebytes and AVG. They both came up empty - no issues.

I did my first scan with Malwarebytes about three weeks ago and caught some trojens that AVG and SpyBot together did not catch. I've been using AVG and MWB regularly ever since - full scans every few days just to make sure. No issues before yesterday, and only on RCF.

When Ben had the issues with the advertising and malware, it affected me very much. But whatever Ben did to fix that issue worked for me as well.

There is an ad zone at the bottom of the new home page... if you can post what ad is showing when you have the problem we can remove it.

a little slow but holding up great after this beat down to the lakers!

Come the trade deadline I'll turn off the search function, images, registrations, who's online and a few other things... we should be able to handle all the traffic. Tonight there were 500 online and we only slowed about 2 seconds on page loads.

I'm so thankful that I'll be on the way to Cleveland for the Feb 18th game. This place is going to be complete madness. Can I ask that someone text me any breaking news that day?

Another downtime it appears Ben.

My clock said 12:43 AM Eastern

I wasn't able to connect to RCF, then when I was able to, only 9 members were online.

Was down for the past hour for me - from 845-945 Pacific.

Was down for quite a while for me as well.

Yup, 'bout an hour down for me too. Not able to make any connection to the host.

... 11:23 AM (1/21/10) to 12:46 PM (1/22/10). That's how long I was down for. Numbers Don't and the splash page were fine, but this was quite the time... for an hour and 23 minutes.

I'm really a little more pessimistic regarding this, and it's not even your guys fault. But I'm diligent and I love this site, so I will never give up until this site goes down permanently (which I hope will be never).

Same problem for me as the few above me. It is the same thing happened as the last few times.

Ben: Can't tell you what ad was up, because I cannot even get on RCF. If you are talking the ad that is on the Numbersdont front page, then I will look next time it happens.

Not sure what's going on. I contacted our server to get a better answer. It doesn't seem like activity has sky rocketed, so I'm not sure why we are having issues.
