Windhorst Radio Show & Updates

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I do not even want to know what the last book you read was...

Honestly probably Dennis Rodman "As Bad As I Want To Be"... Think that was back in 98'

Very fast wrap-up of today's Hey Windy (think it was on Wednesday this week and not Thursday because Windy going to NCAA tournament).
Items may not be in chronological order (remembered a few things later)
Hey Windy -- 3.15.17
http://www.espn.com/espnradio/playPopup?id=18917121

* CLE offense so good, makes up for weak defense.
* CLE at full force is likely the best team in the league (Wow. Windy drinking the Kool-Aid, it seems. I like it.).
* CLE has super potential as a team. Just missing guys and not in sync right now.
* CLE might be able to win a title with great offense, meh defense (which is how they are currently built).
* Good chance CLE plays MIA in R1 of playoffs.
* Love could come back as early as Saturday.
* CLE "flipping switch" is really them upping effort level.
* BOS can't hang with CLE because BOS maxes out in reg season with effort.
* Scouts: Larry Sanders very underweight now.
* Agent: He's only 8 pounds off what he last played at in the NBA. (Agent for Sanders)
* Windy: Sanders doesn't look like he has an NBA body right now.
* If Sanders does one thing well, in one game, for CLE in playoffs, signing him was worth it.
* Can't rely on Sanders right now. Fans should not rely on him.
* Sanders deal non-guaranteed for next year; he has no leverage. He's not super wanted around the league.
* LeBron may not be happy with how small a lineup the team has played with in recent games (Houston).
* LeBron has amazing recovery (and gym?) equipment in his Ohio home.
* Deron Williams is incredible at running the pick and roll. Even better than I realized.

I said before if you want Sanders to put on 8-10pds..get that man to every fast food place and Krispy Kreme's that you can.

"Betta have his donuts next game, for real. I don't care if you gotta fly. Trains, planes, or automobiles."

Can Sanders borrow some pounds from Windy? I mean it seems like it bothers him so much, I don't think he would mind.
Just ducktape it underneath the clothes.

* Defense is a disaster.
* I'm concerned about Kyle Korver's foot.
* Some guys are worn down. Like Tristan Thompson. LeBron.
* Love and JR are not in rhythm or in full shape.
* Team has no rhythm or continuity. Partially because they never practice.
* Ty Lue hasn't done the best job.
* I'm not sure that Ty Lue knows what to do.
* Lue is still learning.
* Cavs have time to fix things.
* Kyrie was in despair after the game last night.
* Cavs' poor offense is making their defense look even worse.
* Cavs' defensive fundamentals are poor.
* When Cavs offense picks up, that will improve their defense a great deal.
* Cavs just very out of rhythm right now.
* When Cavs get behind, they try to fix everything by out-scoring opponent.
* Cavs instead need to work to get stops when they trail opponents.
* Cavs have built up bad habits (trying to out-score opponents).
* Cavs can still put things back together.
* Cavs are undisciplined defensively; rely heavily on their offense.
* Everything has gone against Cavs all at once. Can't catch a break.
* I don't think Ty knows exactly what to do right now (young coach still learning).
* Don't evaluate a team when they are at their worst (as Cavs are right now).
* Not sure where to start to 'rebuild' Cavs right now. Not sure Lue knows, either.
* No, I don't think Lue is coaching for his job.
* Cavs don't need to overreact right now.
* Cavs need to fix one thing at a time.
* Not sure if all will be ok for the Cavs, but let's not overreact in the moment, either.
* Still plenty of time left to right the ship.
* Cavs are in a protracted offensive slump right now.
* Team is much better than they are showing currently.
* Cavs have to roll their sleeves up and fix one thing at a time.
* Cavs do look old right now, and they are banged up.
* I am convinced Tristan is "not right."
* Playoffs are much different. They could favor an experienced team like the Cavs.
* Can't forget that the regular season is much different than the playoffs.
* I don't think it's just an effort thing.
* Injuries and continuity matters are also hurting the Cavs.
* And the Cavs have bad habits.
* Worst habit they have is they just want to out-score their opponents (rather than put more effort into defense).
* Two most worrisome things are injuries and the bad habits.

'Our offense is our defense' shtick backfiring. Who would have thought? :shakehead:

Lebron needs to be careful with making the guys think it's okay to coast. He may reach the postseason and realise the others don't have the ability to 'turn it on' like he can. This notion that we have another gear on D might end up amounting to a false sense of security

I usually disagree with some of Windy's takes but I pretty much agree with everything he had to say today.

I think part of TT's problem might be the teeth. It hasn't been that long since he got hit in the mouth. My understanding is he pretty much got his top front teeth knocked out, but instead they were driven back. No matter what, his gums aren't close to being healed, and the teeth aren't completely set.

When the heart gets to beating hard and the blood gets to pumping injured healing sockets throb. He has to be guarding his mouth even if it's sub-consciously. And, he said his eating habits had to change for awhile.

In addition he was having some kind of prolonged knee issues.

Get Sanders up here and let TT spend a bunch more time on the bench.

The scariest thing Windy said was that Lue was confused and didn't know what to do, where to start, etc.

This team has enough talent that a coach should not be completely rudderless.

This says coaches are putting the team in position to lose, rather than to win. Schemes are off - on D, the players all look confused as to who to cover, where to be, etc. If this falls apart this year, Longabardi has to be replaced. Lue will likely get a pass for having won the whole thing, but another year of this BS will see him canned.

TT has sucked all year. If you cannot see that youre blind
I would not say he sucks, but he is less effective this season... ideally TT is a 6th man energy guy being an undersized center... being a starter neutralizes his strengths

If the Cavs does bad in the playoffs... can we blame it on the Kardashian curse? ;)

You guys are both right. We get so little production out of that position with TT starting. We need some legit bigs, among other things.
