Shaq is ok, but he is nothing special. He is a big name. I would rather trade Ben Wallace for Kaman and keep Sasha for another deal. Kaman isn't as good as Shaq but he is 10 years younger and he would be FAR better for the long-run.

The goal is to win a championship next year.
Which player brings us closer.

Long run is also important, but maybe not as important if James is gone?

I would like to get to a point where we aren't having major changes to our lineup every year.

If Lebron signs an extension of 3 + years next year, then you will see the cavs moving toward a more long term style. Right now it is all about showing LBJ that we are willing to bite the bullet, take on the cash and make this team better. I think this trade shows LOBJ we are committed to improving this team...I don't see how this trade does anything but help the chances of LBJ reupping next year.
