Looks pretty cool. Cost is 5 bucks if you just want to go in and see the park, 10 for all you want ice skating, 20 for a 2 hour time to go down the snow tubing, and 25 for both the ice skating and snow tubing. Of course they do this when I move out of Ohio :chuckles:

What an awesome innovative stupid idea....

Hopefully the money from this thing goes to the Dolan 'Improve the Team Charity'....

Can't wait to crash into some little fuckers

I heard the trajectory of the ramp was built too high, creating a velocity too dangerous for it to be legal (think 50-60 mph going down hill).

1.) It's "Snow Days"

2.) It's at Jacobs Field

Might go Snopening Day this Friday for the post-snow fireworks. :D

The first two comments on the cleveland.com story were pretty funny:

So was that a snowman, or just Jhonny Peralta still standing at shortstop?

Wow Snow days At Progressive Park in the winter time, nice idea. I think entertainment in the summer would be great too, maybe A water Park or skate rink.

Talk about dry humor. :chuckles: I love Cleveland sports fans.

Drive downtown, pay for parking, add 25 more bucks all to sled down the bleachers. Or I could go sled down a hill that is 5 minutes from my house for free. Hmmmm....

Anything that tries to bring folks downtown is a good thing. Gonna be interesting to see how this works out. At least Progressive Field is going to be used during the winter, unlike CBS.

There's the 'let's pump money into the cleveland economy' spirit! Although it is easy for me to say, as I live in Tremont and could walk there if I wanted.

I get that this is Cleveland so everyone has to race to make a negative comment or snark reply - but I have no idea how anyone could be against this idea. Even if you hate the team and the owner and all that - this has nothing to do with baseball. Not sure why anyone would be against downtown Cleveland doing something to draw people there.

I was there for media day yesterday and it was really cool. You get to walk around on the field - the tubing ramp is actually pretty cool and there are lots of stuff for kids. Not to mention the vendors are open and serving beer.

I don't believe they are going to charge parking like there is an actual game going on. You should be able to park anywhere downtown for the normal price of coming downtown.

And if you are paying $25 for a lot you really need to do a little more investigation into cheaper lots. There are $5 or $10 lots only a block further from the park than the $25 lots.

You SO work for the Indians. You defend the Dolans' every move and attack anyone who has a bad thing to say about the club like no one else.

Couldn't be more obvious. This is the real W&G folks. How is Andy Marte's arbitration status coming along? I anxiously await your reply so I can send my immediate thanks.

And... this has a little bit to do with management. On the surface, it is a little disconcerning when your owners one week talk about not spending anything on free agents coming off back to back 90+ loss seasons, then we open up a token outdoor ice rink at the ballpark to try and distract the fans from the hideous on field product.

How is this about the Dolans? It is about a snow park built to bring people downtown and give kids something to do?

If the Dolan's owned puppies and rainbows you would probably hate them too.

This has nothing to do with the Indians. That is my point. It is ridiculous to hate a a SNOW PARK just because you don't like the sports team. That is like saying you refuse to see any concerts at the Q because the Cavs suck.

You mentioned the vendors are serving beer... are they also serving hot chocolate?

Are all of the team shops open?
