Wish we still had Shannon Brown?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The game is slowing down for him...

Yes, I would like to have him around to take Sasha's place.. He's playing decent defense and is picking his spots..

Not a major loss, but with Boobie becoming irrelevant, it would have been nice to have a young guard with some upside to come off the bench..

I dont.

Hes good in the Lakers system and not in ours. Hes useless here.
Just Larry Hughes sucked here, now he gets all the spotlight and ball handling he wants in NY. He FITS there.

Shannon Brown's stats from yesterday's game couldn't possibly be more empty and meaningless.

In the fourth quarter, Houston was trying to eat time off the clock. Shannon Brown would get the ball, take two dribbles into the teeth of the defense, then pull it back out and take a three from the elbow. With Houston ahead by so much, they weren't exactly in a rush to close out on Brown. The only chance L.A. had was for Kobe to heat up, or perhaps for Gasol to finally counter the strength of Chuck Hayes.

Obviously, Brown was too busy creating his own shot to get Kobe or Gasol (who is over 6 inches taller than the guy defending him) involved. Selfish role players just don't scare me, especially since our coaching staff knows exactly what he can and cannot do.

I just don't see any scenario where Shannon Brown would become a viable part of a Championship run by our team.

the only reason iwish we still had shannon is so that we could trot him and JJ out there in garbage time. Man, we'd see some crazy highlights and our bench would be going bananas.

Why would I miss a player that tuned out coaches and ignored everything he was told? No more box scores for you.

I will echo most of the comments in here about Shannon. He was a human turnover machine. Sure, he is athletic. He can play in a helter skelter system also. But, it has been covered here. He just doesn't thrive in a system where an emphasis is placed on ball security.

He blows at the defensive end.

This is a simple no. If we still had Shannon Brown would we have the team we have now? I don't think so.

He just fits in well with the system in LA.

Wow guys, maybe you should actually watch Shannon's play recently instead of just basing your opinions on when he was here in Cleaveland years ago. Players do improve. He plays great defense, and doesnt do alot of running or creating off the dribble. He plays a very controlled game now and mostly just spots up and knocks down the open 3's. 10-15 on 3 pointers in the playoffs i think so far.

Also I know we like to bag on the Lakers, but saying they play shit defense and acting like we're playing some out of the world defense is just silly. The lakers play great defense and they also played utah and houston where as we played detroit and atlanta, a huge difference.

I agree we wouldnt have the team we have now if we had kept Shannon but lets not start getting all butt hurt because the guy is playing well. Be happy for him.

He can play well all he wants in the playoffs... but Ill kind of feel bad if he starts crying after we beat the lakers down in the finals! :chuckles:

Curb the enthusiasm. He is BARELY in the Lakers rotation as it is.

He was always an average defender... Michigan State prepared him fairly well to defend one on one. Since I have seen every L.A. game in this series, I'll tell you that he has NOT improved in ball handling and passing. Those deficiencies kept him off the floor for the Cavs. They also regulate him to third string point guard for the Lakers.

No, I don't understand why people are so excited about the guy who is stuck behind Fisher, Vujacic, and Farmar.
