Worried about the spread?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I encourage all buckeye fans to watch the Michigan game this weekend...It really might not be that pretty so I am sure you will get a kick out of it

it also looks like a Walk on QB will be starting by the name of Nick Sheridan but we have 2 guys that will most lilly play...

michigan is the great unknown right now...it could go really well and we land a 9-3 season or really badly and end 6-6...I am leanign more towards 9-3 but we have to beat Utah first and the Utes are bringing a tough squad this year

we will see

our QB situation is terrible right now though...Looks like Tate Forcier will be replacing the lost Newsome which I am ok with because I think he is a better thrower and I want to have passing be a big part of our offense

we will see...UM is headed in the right direction but its gonna take 2-3 years to get any momentum to get back into the NC picture

This will be one of the fastest and most athletic groups Michigan has had in awhile though...watch our for my boys true frosh Tay Odoms and the rb duo of Sam McGuffie/Mike Shaw

You really think your crappy team can go 9-3 this year? Keep telling yourself that and you may believe it someday. Ram Rod is a turd and he's going to do to scUM what he did to WVU. That's like marrying a chick that cheated on her husband to be with you. HELLO!!!:hay: And no, the spread offense doesn't worry OSU. We ran the spread offense with Troy Smith. We just didn't do any of that gadget bullcrap. Oh, and how can one be a Michigan fan and like OSU too??? That just doesn't happen. Anyways, GO BUCKS!!!

Ohio State always has one of the best secondarys as well as defenses in all of college football, I don't think we need to worry about the spread against Michigan...Tressel Owns Michigan

I'm sorry you can't take a little friendly ribbing between an OSU fan and a scUM fan. But really...how can you like both schools. I really don't think that is possible. Please enlighten us.

i dont like both schools...I hate OSU...I actually agree that its tough to like both teams and it doesnt seem possible

But you typical OSU fan bs spewing of crap gets old...if you have an informed opinion about it than I am all ears but just the random same old same old gets tiring...especially since I live in Columbus

Listen...no UM fan in his right mind believes we can beat OSU this year...We are building something good right now though and if we can find the QB to lead us then we will have something

R Rod will find a qb. Like you said, it will take a couple years but once he gets his recruits in there things will get better for scUM.

Here's my thing...what am I supposed to inform you of? That we own you right now? That we've owned you the last 5 or 6 years? That The Ohio State University IS the Big 10 right now? Sorry dude, I'm just as passionate about my team as you are yours.

Michigan will be right back in the thick of things in a couple years. I'm not sure this years OSU-UM game will be competetive like it usually is because of LLLLLLoyd not being there. I just think between him and Tressel, no matter who was on the field it was going to be a great game. I'm not feeling that this year but hey, I could be wrong.

Now I have some questions for you...mainly because I'm not going to go searching for some scUM news, lol. First, what kind of contract did they sign RRod to? Second, I was watching ESPN's college football preview tonite and RRod said he did away with the team captain thing. What's up with that?

Im not asking you to inform me really just ont be a total dumbass like in your first post....this last post is something i can stomach...Im not retarted...I know OSU is better and has been but no need for the 4 year old level trash talk...it gets old

RRods on for awhile...Captains thing is his own deal and no UM people were real hapy about it but what can you do....It wasn't a HUGE tradition anyway but it wasnt something I was happy about

Well, I think it's good that Rich Rod is playing the spread. It will only help Ohio State get stronger. Why? Because OSU normallly doesn't normally have to plan for true spread offenses, and now that we do, or defense will be even better, and we'll do better against teams in the Championship since we'll be ready and battle tested against their offenses.

well that was ugly on saturday

our QB situation was much much worse than I had thought....this team will struggle this year...our defense looked good int he 2nd half but our LBs looked bad in pass coverage all day and this is how you can beat us...short passes to players covered by LBs

I still believe that this team will be worlds different by the time we play OSU and I can pnly pray our QB situation gets better or we will struggle to win a game in general....our OL played really bad as well which was scary considering how thin we are up front

gonna be a looooong year

you guys will be lucky to win 6 games after that performance.

we will see...I think we get better

Defensivly we should be pretty good...

offensivly...well...

we will see

Well, Michigan looked like crap today vs. Miami OH but Ohio St. looked even worse against Ohio. Not really sure what to think about this. I do know one thing, Todd Boeckman IS NOT the answer. Also, RRod has some work to do at scUM. The Big 10 is not looking too great this year and frankly right now I'm afraid to think what next Saturday holds against USC. UGH.

OSU should be worried about the spread offense. They haven't come remotely close to stopping it when matched up against teams with equal speed and talent. Illinois and Michigan should be able to rake in the recruits to be comparable to what OSU has seen out of LSU and Florida recently. In the end though, that will be good for the Buckeyes. I feel they have been able to run over the Big 10 lately with some very vanilla offensive and defensive schemes and that has really hurt them come bowl season.

Rodriguez's system requires a special talent at QB which could lead to significant ups and downs depending on injuries and recruiting. You put Pat White at the helm and it looks beautiful. Put a lesser athlete and worse decision maker in charge and it can unravel pretty fast. Look what happened to Oregon last year when Dennis Dixon went down. They went from contender to doormat almost immediately. That is what would scare me if I rooted for Michigan.
