Not a knock on you sam b/c you're not the only one guilty (I'm sure I'm guilty as well), but I strongly dislike (try not to use the word hate) when people bring up a guy's name and all the replies go towards what that player CAN'T do. It's amazing how the discussion of Amare fitting in with the Cavs went from "OMG, he can't play defense and he has a bad attitude and he wants to be the man" to now we'd be winning chips if we brought him on.

BTW, look who was the only person to rep the OP of this thread. Hmmmm.....
Thanks, Mom! :chuckles:

This is a few months old now, and I don't think I am personally still interested in Luol, or even the Cavs. Camby, Josh Howard, Antawn Jamison. There are better 'Plan B's' then Deng right now. But that deal with Chi and Phx, I'm not sure the Cavs would be willing to take back Drew.

Right now, I cant decide which is uglier, his game or his contract.

LMAO

I don't know if the Cavs would be interested or not, but he does fit the type of player that W&G has described we'd be looking at. Young. Swingman (like Butler and Jefferson) who can play a couple different positions on the floor. Definitely not cheap, though. Might be a pretty decent opportunity to buy low.

He's struggled a bit this year with play (understandable with Rose entering the mix) and health. But he seems to be coming on strong. 18 points on 52% shooting along with 8 boards in the last month leading up to the All Star break.

Ya, R-Jeff is an intriguing option. My first option is obviously Amare, then it's close between guys like R-Jeff, Camby, Josh Howard, and Caron Butler (unlikely). I will just wait it out, and see what Ferry wants, I guess. Not much a fan can do, but sit back and watch.

Just something I came up with on ESPN

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aqmumu

Cavs:

PG:Mo/Boobie
SG:West/Deng/Sasha
SF:LeBron/Deng
PF:Big Ben/Tyrus Thomas/J.J
C:Z/AV

Cavs become more versatile. And Tyrus might just need a change in scenery. If not, he's gone in 2 years.

Bulls:

PG:Rose/Hinrich
SG:Ben Gordon/Larry Hughes
SF:Vince Carter/Nocioni
PF:Gooden/Noah
C:Noah/Grey

If everyone can stay healthy, Bulls can sneak into the playoffs.

Nets:

Gives up on this season. Aquires Clevelands 2nd Round pick(Origanally from Bulls). Goes into offseason with Harris/Yi/Brook Lopez, 22M in Cap Space, and a group of solid role players(Kinsey, Sefolosha, Boone, Josh Anderson, Sean Williams, Dooling)

There's no reason for us to go after Luol Deng. He's a SF who lives on driving to the hoop. If we're going to bring in an upgrade over Delonte, that person needs to be a creator/distributor, play good defense against SG's, and have a terrific outside shot. Deng just does not fit the bill.
