He cant shoot or handle at PF let alone SF.

Oh ya, he is a huge bust, but he is still a really good defensive player, who can block shots.

When?

Everytime I see the Bulls if they go small Nocioni plays PF to stretch the floor. Also, Deng is 6'8" in shoes not 6'9"

NBA.com and ESPN.com list Deng as 6'9". That is how tall Darnell Jackson and Ben Wallace, and they play some center.

I'm not sure how much PF Deng has played this season, but in the past (when he succeeded) he played a lot more PF. If we got him on the Cavs, I would put him as our 6th man, come on for Ben Wallace, and either he or Bron can play PF, then later, we can put him at SF, LeBron at SG, or what ever. There are a few possible combonations.

He is young and has a lot of potential but there is no room for him to start at sf. Lebron is a sf and I would be too scared to mess with him at the sg position when he obviously is more comfortable at the sf position. The most I would do is work out a 3 team deal where we get a good SG in return but even then Chicago would probably take that good SG before us.

Start at SF? I was thinking having him come off the bench for us.

Deng is a fine player and would be a nice addition to the CAVS, period. Now, with that said I would not trade Wally and AV for him. (1) he has huge contract and (2) he is not the outside shooter the CAVs are probably looking for. With this trade he is basically an offensive upgrade over AV. I would however trade Wally straight-up for him, which of course the Bulls would not do.

I would love deng here...I have actually watched him a lot.. here are some of my observations(these are from last year and the year before that, but i don't think he got too much worse considering he is only 23)

-He is a great mid range shooter

-he is an above average defender

-His best season was when he basically attempted no 3's.. it think him focusing more on 3's might of taken away from his overall game.

-He is a pretty good slasher/driver, knows how to finish strong.

-Seems like a great person(assuming), he has done a lot of work in his home country of sudan, and made some commercials about HIV also.

All that aside... I would love to have him here... Wally and Andy seems reasonable even though i think andy has been a straight beast this year. I think Luol has all star potential. A 20-8 guy.

I don't want him. He seemed to have a promising future a couple years ago but it doesn't seem that he's improved any since then. I'd send them Pavlovic for Deng :king:

Munch from ESPN radio (850) said over the off-season that the Cavs were interested in Deng over the off-season.

Munch is an idiot.

I don't see where he'd play. He's a 3, so I'd say no. I think he's a bit soft too. I like his talent, not his mindset. He's not a bad player, though.

Eh, I don't see any way of getting him.

The question is why would the Bulls trade him, especially a division rival like the Cavs without getting much talent back...

The Bulls like to rebuild. A lot.

To paraphrase Bill Walton at halftime of the Bulls' game yesterday: "The Bulls have been rebuilding for the past ten years, every year since MJ left they have been trying a new way to rebuild."

Really, the Bulls front office sucks. They have had something like 7 top ten draft picks in the last 10 years and have almost nothing to show for it.

Almost as much as the Browns.

I really dont think anyone LIKES to rebuild. Rebuilding is more of a phase of being not a "thing".

Sure a guy who can't shoot the 3 to shrink the floor for lebron thats getting a ridiculous contract.

There is no way that we could trade for him. I think the Bulls would want to much and his contract that he just signed this year is going to lock us up for too long. I would love to have him though. I am a huge Duke fan and i loved his game when he was just a freshman in college. The problem is, is that he gets hurt a lot and his contract is too long. If we had traded for him last year i would have done it in a heart beat.

Not a knock on you sam b/c you're not the only one guilty (I'm sure I'm guilty as well), but I strongly dislike (try not to use the word hate) when people bring up a guy's name and all the replies go towards what that player CAN'T do. It's amazing how the discussion of Amare fitting in with the Cavs went from "OMG, he can't play defense and he has a bad attitude and he wants to be the man" to now we'd be winning chips if we brought him on.

BTW, look who was the only person to rep the OP of this thread. Hmmmm.....
