...he could hit a curveball??

My buddies and I were discussing it.

Imagine if he left after the first 3peat and never came back, or came back 3 years later than he really did

What would be his place in basketball history? Maybe kinda like Jim Brown?

Jordan's trip to baseball was actually a cover up of a year long suspension from the NBA for gambling. Everybody knows that.

Yup. Jordan basically had two options: 1) Take a leave of absence 2) Get a very, very heavy suspension

WOW!
Thanx for the info
I wouldnt take Stern for someone that would suspend his cash cow
but hey..stranger things have happened
what was he gambling on besides golf?
did he get suspended for golf??

but yes, if dude could hit a curve ball, there may have been a possibility he didn't come back

He was pretty much gambling on anything he could. His gambling debts were extremely severe. It's been said that Worldwide Wes can get bookies off your back, I've always felt he did exactly that for Jordan.

He would place bets on games of horse versus Richard Hamilton. Word on the street is 195 lb Rip used to take him for his weekly bank. Jordan would have to compensate Hamilton with services such as head massages when he couldn't make good with the cash. PROOF:

A little more to the left, thanks Mike.

I don't know about the Hamilton thing.

I believe this is a Jordan Brand commercial

I couldn't imagine him doing business with Rip if they didn't get along

Yes if he never came back, his legacy would be kinda like Jim Brown's. Both would be widely considered the best ever in their sport.
In other words, I don't get your last line.

Yeah, I know nothing about their relationship. In fact, I'd imagine it's a good relationship considering Hamilton signed to Team Jordan as a Piston, as you pointed out. What I remember reading about those high rolling games of horse is that they were done out of fun mostly and sometimes Jordan would hold up the team bus getting his money back. They made it sound like he was trying to groom Hamilton as one of his replacements. So I'd assume they have a decent enough relationship (yet Rip would still take him for his Wizards paycheck :chuckles:).

No, man!

Jim Brown was a legendary lacrosse player. If there was a Pro Lacrosse in his time, he would have won several back to back MVP awards.

exactly the thing that makes jim brown so great is that he is potentially the greatest player ever at 2 sports...

of course jim thrope blows everyone out of the water, but still brown was fantastic.
