WTF is going on with the Dolphins?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Herm Edwards and Bill Polian are totally trashing him on ESPN. Forcing someone into financing a 30k dinner is ludicrous.

I don't have nearly as much animosity over this.. The dude got like a 1.5 million dollar signing bonus and over 600K in guaranteed salary this year. It is a regular occurrence that rookies pay for a dinner with their direct referent others (read: team offensive linemen) out of respect. This is how they have stories to tell and how they build relationships. I'm not against the "hazing" of making a guy pay for an expensive dinner if the goal is to kind of band together. Clearly doesn't seem to be the case here. Or it has gotten way out of hand.

I am against insensitivity and standing up to be a team leader, yet acting like a full-time bigot. The other linemen were going along with the treatment, which tells me that they're far out of touch with who Martin is. A LEADER should understand the character dynamics and work to make the unit better. What Incognito did was ostracizing Martin out. Belittling him.

When the goal is to humiliate with no regard for reigning a guy into your "world", that is no longer hazing. That is, and I am not a fan of this word in sports, bullying. I know because I've been hazed and even though it was rough, I look back on it as the best time I never want to have again. After it, I felt closer to those who I was being hazed with and by.

Don't fuck with the guy who is 50 times smarter than you, Ritchie Hideaway.

If you made 20k forcing you to pick up a $300 tab would be equally as insane.

The guy has been assigned to be a "team leader", which is something he had the privilege of going to Harvard Business School (through the NFL) to learn effective leadership principles.

Then he hazes and gets personal with Martin in his first AND second season.

After all this, Incognito has the gull to tweet that he wants hi name cleared.

Then, (allegedly) his dad goes on a Dolphins message board and completely kills the Dolphins and Martin, attacking Martin's personal life...

Fuck Richie Incognito. I don't know much about Martin, but the Dolphins are fostering this idiot Incognito. Lastly, Incognito's dad is a piece of shit.
a comment like that coming from that scumbags dad is like the least surprising thing ever.

regardless, it's sad to see something like this was enabled by what is supposed to be a professional franchise. i mean ffs.

Tony Dungy said Incognito was on his "Do Not Draft Due to Character" list when coming out of college.

Scott Pioli said he was on a similar list that New England had.

Now he's resorted to blasting Schefter:

There's "rookie hazing" and there's going overboard.

Really boggles my mind that some people are actually behind Incognito on this.

That's 5% of his salary for the year, it's absolutely insane to force someone to do that.

i dont think that shits funny. Hazing is retarded, its middle school bullies letting out their repressed urges. If you dont think you can build a relationship with sometone without being a dick to them under guise of hazing, youre not doing it right.

Shit...is anyone actually behind him? I feel like everything I've seen has been calling him out. Meanwhile...what's with this BRINGIT shit? What's he gonna beat up Adam Schefter?

Everything about Incognito screams D-bag. Can totally see this guy as a 10 year old. Dad probably yelling at him, abusive. Telling his fatass son to go beat up some kids. Yup.

I think the only person behind him is his trailer trash dad. I've never heard of a rookie being forced to pick up a tab that massive. They usually get capped at a limit....like each rookie kicking in $2K or something. Someone asks for $30K or for me to send a group of them to Vegas, I'd say "go fuck yourself". It's not only stupid, it's illegal. It's extortion. I'm completely stunned that there wasn't a veteran with a brain on the team that put a stop to this shit.

The guy is an asshole and I only wish bad things upon him and his father. I look forward to the day when they are broke, get busted with a meth lab and go to prison together.

Worth noting, those are from yesterday. It will be interesting to see if anyone has his back now that the ugly facts are coming out.

In the #BengalsvsDolphins program. Richie Ingognito was asked "easiest teammate 2 scare?...Johnathan Martin"
