WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Idk the face not going for his rematch is unheard of. I'm assuming they want to do a best of 3 with the 3rd match having a crazy stipulation. Sucks the next takeover isn't until WM. I could see Joe losing that night and then coming up.

Are they not doing a Rumble Takeover? I figured they were gonna do NXT specials at all the big four PPV weekends now.

I retract my previous post. There is a December network special live from Japan. Nakamura wins the belt back on his home country.

You're probably right, but imagine if on Tuesday, AJ is fresh off of leading Team Smackdown to victory, last man standing. He comes to the ring, says he's the best, says no one on the Smackdown roster can touch him. Nakamura's music hits.

Probably won't happen, but that would be amazing.

Time for a Survivor Series prediction post!

WWE Cruiserweight Title Match - THE Brian Kendrick (c) Vs. Kalisto
Kendrick%20vs.%20Kalisto.jpg

I thought putting the belt on Kendrick was the right call. I also think him retaining the title would normally be the right call. However, moving the belt to Smackdown makes the most sense. The booking there is better, and the new 205 Live show is filmed and aired live on the same night. This almost seems like too obvious a choice, but the cruiserweight division should have been Smackdown exclusive in the first place, and it makes the most sense to move it there now and give it a chance to actually do something.
Winner: Kalisto

WWE Intercontinental Championship - The Miz (c) Vs. Sami Zayn
Sami%20vs.%20The%20Miz.jpg

The Miz has been awesome this year. He's revitalized his career every bit as much as Jericho has over the last six months. That said, I really don't see any reason for him to have won the title back from Ziggler other than to drop it to Zayn. And if the cruiserweight division and title are moving to Smackdown, it makes sense for the IC title to head back to Raw. My guess is that Zayn wins, and then Miz is traded to Raw to flesh out the mid-card. Alternatively, Zayn wins and then either defects to Smackdown or finds out that a title brand switch wasn't explicitly stated in the match contract (perhaps trickery by Shane/Bryan?) and ends up on Smackdown that way.
Winner: Sami Zayn

Survivor Series Tag Team Match - Team Raw (New Day, Gallows & Anderson, Enzo & Cass, Cesaro & Sheamus, and the Shining Stars) Vs. Team Smackdown (Slater & Rhyno, American Alpha, the Usos, Breezango, and the Hype Bros)
Tag%20Team%20SS%20Team.jpg

Predicting these matches kind of illustrates the problem with them in the first place. With nothing at stake, how can you begin to figure out who will or should win? With that in mind, I'm going to go with who makes the WWE the money, and that's New Day.
Winner: Team Raw

---

Women's Survivor Series Match - Team Raw (Charlotte, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, & Alicia Fox) Vs. Team Smackdown (Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, & Carmella)
Womens%20SS%20Team.jpg

This match is every bit as tough to predict as the previous one. I'm going to go with Team Smackdown simply because I think they take two out of three and I think Raw takes the tag team match.
Winner: Team Smackdown

Men's Survivor Series Match - Team Raw (Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, & Braun Strowman) Vs. Team Smackdown (AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, & Shane McMahon)
Mens%20SS%20Team.jpg

My personal guess here is simple. The Undertaker returned this week, and it seemed like he returned to actually work a bit. I think this is the start of a run leading to his retirement at Wrestlemania. I think Shane gets laid out by Taker at Survivor Series, and Taker steals his spot on the team. I think this leads to a Taker/Shane showdown at the Rumble, which is an easy money match they can sell to fill up the stadium. The alternative is that Team Raw wins and Taker decides to take it out on Styles, which leads to a feud between them. I'd like to hope that Shawn Michaels makes a return to challenge Styles at the Rumble, though, so I am going with the former theory.
Winner: Team Smackdown

Brock Lesnar Vs. Bill Goldberg
Brock%20vs.%20Goldberg%202.jpg

Well, I expect this match to be awful. Anyone else? Anyway, it makes no sense for Goldberg to win unless he's coming back full time. There are two options here. Lesnar wins to establish his dominance or Lesnar wins to set up the rubber match at 'Mania. I can't see a different outcome here, and I fully anticipate this being awful.
Winner: Brock Lesnar

While it would be cool, I can't see either coming up for awhile. NXT attendence outside of the big Takeover specials has been down. I mean you were able to get cheap tickets the day of for last night and the last few live events for cheap. Outside of a few guys , draw power isn't there. Losing Balor and all the women has hurt them.

Yet there is a reason to Have Miz retain... Drama.

Miz retains the title Shane and Daniel Bryan rush up to the ring and then Miz grabs the mic and proudly declares he is taking his title to Raw cause of a clause he snuck into his contract.

Stephanie as already called Zayn a lose and doesn't think much of him so on Monday night raw or Smackdown an agreement is reached where Stephanie sends Zayn to Smackdown.

I'm thinking Kalisto wins via shenanigans to keep the belt on Kendrick while moving the division to Smackdown. Like getting himself disqualified or something

I was at NXT last night and outside of the guy sitting next to me, the crowd was phenomenal. I have a great video of the crowd chanting Nakamura's entrance. That DIY win got the biggest pop of the night. But my favourite overall moment was chanting 10 every time the ref counted. Classic moment.

so your saying Kalisto out heels Kendrick?
or maybe a clean win with so post match roughing up.

I agree I think Kalisto will establish himself as a heel champ perhaps a distraction by Sin Cara.

Kalisto will stil need a pin or submission to take the title from perkins

It can really go either way. Both scenarios you mentioned are plausible. Yet I can see Sami gaining the title and hanging it over Steph. She could early get him over as the underdog baby face. He would get more over faster on Raw w her than on Smackdown with anyone.

At the same time, heel Miz is the best heel on SD...I really can't think of another legitimate heel.

AJ is a pretty damn good heel

No I'm saying Kendrick gets DQed, meaning Kalisto wins but doesn't get the belt

He is, but he's so good in the ring that it's hard to hate him. Miz is a fantastic heel because he makes the entire crowd hate him. Styles just can't pull that off. It's just a consequence of being both an indie darling and one of the best wrestlers in the world. It's damn near impossible to get the entire crowd against you.

I think I might be revising my tag match prediction. I kind of hope the Revival shows up and takes out New Day to cost Team Raw the victory.

Aj is more of a comic heel. its comes across more humorous than boorish.
Bray is so over and lost so many feuds people root for him as the WWE has turned him into an underdog somehow.
Miz is the classic Ric Flair style heel in and out of the ring. people root for Miz to get up
Corbin is the big man heel but he doesn't have the out of ring personality that makes him as intimidating as he should be. Also his in ring style is still beng developed.
Orton doesn't seem interested in being a heel. probably why he lined up with the Wyatts.
