WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Incredible. I guess the goal of every PPV finish is to leave the audience wondering what's going to happen next. Mission accomplished.
In general, this would be a good thing. The problem is these guys are rarely on Raw, so it means very little. I don't even think they're advertised for tomorrow.

Survivor Series provided a nice counterpart to Takeover. Questionable booking, dumb decisions, and mediocre in-ring action.

By the way, that segment when Rollins and Reigns were back to back in the ring would have been the absolute fucking perfect time to turn Reigns heel. He lays out Rollins, then leaves the ring and walks to the back, getting eliminated by count out and leaving Rollins to the wolves of Team Smackdown. That would have been great.

Instead, the WWE continued to try to pretend that Reigns is a face even though he acts like a heel, talks like a heel, and gets booed like a heel.

I thought survivor series was fantastic.

Charlotte crushing Baylee
Miz being miz
The tags teams had some great moments.
Baron Corbin saying FU kalisto
Dean Ambrose dancing on the lunatic fringe.
Owens beating up styles with the list
Jericho getting rko's after gathering up his list.
The reigns spear on McMahon was just awesome.
Braun through the table.
and the lesnar match taking less time than the pre match promo.
fantastic .

Goldberg at #1 is a waste. I love that look people get when that unstoppable force comes in. I'd bet Lesnar comes in and eliminates Goldberg quickly. Setting up a WM rematch.

This is probably my 1st time watching Raw live and not catching up on Hulu the next day in awhile. WWE has really taken the steam out of the Women's Division & Cruiserweight Division.

I just watched a tag match with 3 of the 4 most over women in recent history (1 being a heel) + one women who looks to be a solid brute force in the division....and no one gave a damn. Sure it was a little sloppy, but the build up before the match was awful.

Then we have the cruiserweights. Last nights match was solid and tonight's was pretty good, but the arena was flat. Not sure if people just don't get it, but these guys should be over as hell. I like that they are going to their own show, but the crowd will still suck. Not to mention zero build it seems for these guys. Some really talented guys and they are being squandered.

....dont even get me started on the tag division.

In 1994, dirt sheets and magazines were literally the only way to build up a feud. Along with well delivered promos. If you couldnt talk..you had someone who could.

Today we have so many mediums that should get these matches and characters over amongst fans. WWE has virtually no completion stateside and people still seek out alternatives.

I was a WWE guy back when WCW was going out of business and I looked at it as "my team won", but WWE has been absolute shit. They split the roster & now have 4 non televised weekly shows. Arguably the deepest roster in a long time....and WWE is still botching it.

(As I type this I feel like WWE just cut a Brian Kendrick spot for a Moana commercial....stay tuned).

Of course...black guy dances out.

Speaking of black guy, what happened to Crews...So much wasted talent!!!!!!

TJP needs me of his highlights in his Titan Tron entrance...kid could get over if given a legit chance.

Is Brian Kendrick going for a Broken Matt voice tone?

Enzo & Cass should do an infomercial like that every week lol

I'm glad we're finally getting a new Cruiserweight contender. TJP is pretty good overall, but I'd much rather see guys like Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, or Gran Metallik (where is he?) chasing Kendrick for the title.

As a WWE fan that watches regularly I can honestly say I have no interest in the cruiserweights and wish it would go away. It's just hard to get into when you know the pinnacle any of these guys can reach is the cruiserweight title. It's not like they can go beyond that to bigger feuds with other superstars on the main roster. Not to mention the corny purple ropes and the lack of any real character development.

Lol that's fine, I can take it. To each their own. I just can't get into the cruiserweights, but then again WWE as a whole has been hard to get into lately. As much as the brand split was a good thing since the roster is so huge, it did as I expected it would do, overwhelmed me as a casual fan. It's just insanely difficult for me to find time to dedicate 3-4 hours to PPVs every other Sunday, then a 3 hour Raw on Monday, then a 2 hour Smackdown on Tuesday. It's just too much WWE programming. Throw football season and the Tribe's late playoff run in there and it was just easy for WWE to get lost in the mix a bit.

Tell that to Daniel Bryan. Or Rey Mysterio.

Hell, I think Johnny Gargano has more star potential than most guys on the main roster.

Also, the announcement of 205 Live is basically an acknowledgement that the cruisers haven't been given enough time to develop on the main roster. They've finally started giving Kendrick some time to get his character over and he's done a pretty good job. Swann is always going to be a fan favorite because he's got a fun gimmick and he's good in the ring. I think Cedric Alexander is a guy who could easily cross over to the main roster eventually and be a star, depending on how his character work goes. Jack Gallagher is amazing and has star potential too, imo.

Gargano, though...he's the guy. If he doesn't hold one of the main WWE titles some day, the WWE fucked up. He's great in the ring, can play both a brilliant underdog face and a weasel heel, and has a ready-made crowd chant that people love.
