WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tell that to Daniel Bryan. Or Rey Mysterio.

Hell, I think Johnny Gargano has more star potential than most guys on the main roster.

Also, the announcement of 205 Live is basically an acknowledgement that the cruisers haven't been given enough time to develop on the main roster. They've finally started giving Kendrick some time to get his character over and he's done a pretty good job. Swann is always going to be a fan favorite because he's got a fun gimmick and he's good in the ring. I think Cedric Alexander is a guy who could easily cross over to the main roster eventually and be a star, depending on how his character work goes. Jack Gallagher is amazing and has star potential too, imo.

Gargano, though...he's the guy. If he doesn't hold one of the main WWE titles some day, the WWE fucked up. He's great in the ring, can play both a brilliant underdog face and a weasel heel, and has a ready-made crowd chant that people love.

I love the current Gargano and Ciampa pairing though. They work so well together. And the amazing thing about NXT tag teams in general is that they work well together as teams. I mean, I went to the event and the 2/3 falls tag match might be my match of the year. I thought every finisher was going to end in a win. They gave us so many near falls and pin breakups, had an injury angle, ect. And the Revival is probably the most classic heel tag team I've seen in the last 10+ years. It's crazy how a 'developmental' show blows away the main roster PPVs at every turn. Triple H is doing a damn fine job. Vince needs to go away.

I love DIY as well, but I ultimately think that both Gargano and Ciampa can succeed as singles stars, and I think their tag team break up could be a big money feud if done right.

Who faces Goldberg at Wrestlemania is the question here. does this guarantee Owens will have the title or ensure that he doesn't have it

Ellsworth get heralded for interfering in a match while Miz humiliated smackdown with no in ring interference.

Bryan is a hypocrite !

Corbin killed it on smack talk

My guess is Lesnar destroys Goldberg during the Rumble, setting up a 'Mania rematch where he finally goes over an reestablishes his dominance.

I think Owens holds the title until 'Mania at least and then drops it to either Reigns (that will go over well) or Balor (if he's back). I'm thinking he'll have a feud with Jericho at the Rumble and maybe the PPV after.

Looks like I'm going to Raw tomorrow. Looking forward to booing Reigns in person.

It's very fun to. I somehow managed to get seats on two occasions right by where he used to cum out from in the crowd. My drunk self yelled some terrible things in front of kids and their dads. Shame.

Didn't Lesnar screw Goldberg in the 04 Rumble before their 1st Mania match?

Looks like the dark matches tonight are Owens/Rollins and Reigns/Rusev, so that should be fun. Can't wait to try to start some Rusev chants. :chuckle:

Thoughts on tonight:

The crowd was molten hot for that women's match, especially after the false finish earlier in the night. Sasha was the clear favorite, but it was somewhat of a mixed crowd, Charlotte being from here and all.

I was genuinely shocked by the finish. I went in thinking Charlotte was a lock to maintain the title and move on to Bayley.

Also, that ending was fucking perfect, and I liked that the Falls Count Anywhere actually factored in to the outcome. I hate when you have No DQ matches where no rules are broken, and I hate Falls Count Anywhere matches that end in the ring. If you're going to go with stipulations like that, you need to use them, and they did both tonight.

I really wish I had been in the lower bowl of the arena. I was surrounded by kids and, thus, it was a very pro-Reigns crowd around me. The lower bowl was very pro-Owens for their match, and I wish I had been among my people.

Jericho was over as fuck. I don't think his friendship with Owens is over just yet, though. I think he helps Owens retain the title at Roadblock and then either turns on him after the match or the next night on Raw. I can't see them putting both titles on Reigns (seriously...the crowd will fucking riot), and it doesn't seem like Vince has any interest in letting Owens (or anyone, really) pin Reigns clean. Jericho/Owens for the Universal Title would also provide a nice marquee match for the Rumble.

I really, really hope they're setting up Zayn to be the first guy to beat Strowman. If they just feed him to Strowman it will be an awful decision. Still, I like how brutal Strowman is in the ring. He's growing on me. What remains to be seen is if he can work anything other than squash matches.

I love how Rusev is a heel who has to constantly defend his wife's honor from his dickbag coworkers who sexually harass her on a weekly basis. HOW IS HE THE BAD GUY?!?!

Overall, that was a pretty good show to attend live. A couple of good matches and closing with Sasha winning the belt, and then Ric Flair showing up and holding up her hand.

@Jack Brickman I've been thinking the same thing with Rusev. How is Enzo the good guy here? He flashed his wife, and then started clamoring about how she liked it. He sounds like a damn rapist.

Never thought I'd hear a 'ECW' chant during a NO DQ Women's match.

Imagine if Vince let Heyman run a revamped ECW via the WWE Network with guys like in NXT making a name for themselves. I'd watch the shit out of that for sure. Heyman is too good to just be an advocate. CWC, NXT are such improvements, why not fathom over a ECW and what positives it could bring. Bring on some occasional guys like the Dudley's, Dreamer to put guys over.

It's been tried before but it was also watered down garbage.

But once again, I'd watch the hell out of a whole new ECW with new guys doing old stunts.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. kinda backwards but people seem to like it. Romans schtick with Rusev was not much different with the Dolph storyline and the rock encounter seems to be a common theme now.

I noticed The crowd enjoyed Romans spear. I'm not sure if this is a product of Shane taking a spear in the air or Goldberg's spear devastating Brock but the crowd seems to be responding stronger to romans spear since survivor series.
