WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So apparently on Smackdown Live this little graphic popped up and may reveal a surprise entrant into the Royal Rumble, if real.

If you look carefully, the one name that stands out there as someone who isn't currently employed by the WWE is none other than Zack Sabre Jr. If this leads to Sabre appearing on 205 Live as a WWE regular, I am all for it.

Not saying you're wrong... but I also see Konnor's name listed on there, and he sure as shit isn't going to be in the rumble. I see Ellsworth on there too. He shouldn't be in the rumble, but knowing WWE he will.

If I know the WWE writing, he's going to eliminate someone important and get wrecked.

Eh...guys like Konnor and Ellsworth are fine entries in the Rumble because you need a handful of useless chumps to get tossed by guys like Strowman when they come in and clean house.

Also, Owens and Cena are listed as well and they won't be appearing in the Rumble. At least, I don't think they will. Typically guys involved in world title matches don't also appear in the Rumble. However, Owens and Cena will both be on the card, so I guess they make sense there.

Well, the reason I say that about Konnor is he was in that 10 man qualifying battle royal on SD that Mojo Rawley lost. Again, it's WWE so anything is possible, but that would make no sense considering he lost a qualifying match to get in. 22 of the 30 names have been announced so far. It's definitely one of the most loaded rumble lineups I've seen in some time, and that's even excluding the guys in the title matches and Seth Rollins. You figure one of those spots will be Samoa Joe and some other "surprise" entrants we've seen over the years (ex: Kevin Nash, Bubba Ray, Godfather, Boogeyman, etc.) Guess we'll see who the other ones are. I'm pumped though.

Yeah, I too was kind of thrown off by Konnor being on there. At first I thought it said Ohno, and I got pumped because it'd be awesome top see Chris Hero appear in the Rumble and he is signed with NXT again so that's certainly possible. But it's definitely Konnor. Still, they are going to need a few useless bodies in the Rumble to get tossed inconsequentially, so I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Konnor show up.

Still, it's interesting that Sabre's name appears on there at all. As far as I know he's not currently under WWE contract, and hasn't appeared in a WWE match since the CWC last summer.

I'd say Dillinger (at 10) and Samoa Joe are likely NXT guys to appear in the Rumble. It's possible we may get Roode as well if he doesn't win the NXT title, as he'd get a huge pop. Angle is a legend possibility, as he's being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year and is back on good terms with the company at long last. Michaels has been adamant that he won't be in the match and I believe him. Balor is a possibility, assuming he's cleared to return. Shaq is almost a certainty to appear and eliminate Big Show to start their Wrestlemania angle.

Even if all of those guys were in, that would still leave a couple of spots. It'll be interesting to see who they fill them out with. I did like how they actually made the Rumble feel important this year, though. Last year no one even acted like they gave a shit about entering even though the fucking title was on the line.

I'd do Dillinger ar 11, just to fuck with everyone.

Not having Dillinger at 10 seems like a really great way to get the crowd to revolt. They've had such problems with that over the past few years that you'd like to think they've learned something, anything. No one expects Dillinger to win, but have him come out at 10, do his finisher on a guy or two, toss someone, and then eventually get tossed himself. It's simple and it will hype up the crowd.

I also think we may see a UK tournament guy or two. Several of them were pulled from UK commitments for the weekend and will reportedly be present at the Rumble. I could see them using Bate, Dunne, and maybe even Wolfgang. Not all three, but one or two of those guys could be surprise entrants. Gallagher could make the cut too. When you're booking a clusterfuck match like the Rumble, you can really use guys like Gallagher who can go out there and provide a couple of fun, entertaining spots to pop the crowd.

I'd bet my bank account not 1 guy from 205 Live is in it

Neville and Cedric would be good entries. I don't want to see perkins, swann or Kendrick in there really.

Everytime Shinsuke comes out I crank the surround sound.

Dude is a moneymaker. Prized wrestler.

I hope he loses to Bobby, and surprises the Rumble crowd tomorrow.

GLORIOUS!!!!!!!

VICTORIOUS!!!!!!!

SHINSUKE RUMBLE BOUND

nice touch bringing Rollins in to call out Triple HHH

They should have opened the show with Almas/Strong. The crowd just couldn't get into it after the Dillinger loss and I thought it was arguably the best match of the night. If the crowd had been hotter, it would have really helped.

I don't know if the Rumble is sold out or not but it's 72,000 seats. No wonder they're hyping up Goldberg, Lesnar, Taker. I'm starting to get a strange feeling Taker is going to win in crazy fashion. After all, he is the favorite according to Vegas last I seen.

Last year we seen Neville and AJ. This year they have to top it with at least Joe and Shinsuke. Mix in a surprise legend for a pop as well, being in Texas one would hope Stone Cold comes down and stuns a few assholes. But that's a doubt. I mean imagine that, (countdown, buzzer, GLASS BREAKS) it wouldn't get any better than that at a totally unexpected time.

I'm expecting an A++ show. They have to make sure they don't piss alot of people off so they can sell 70k seats again next year for a Royal Rumble. 1997 was the last largest RR crowd of 60k plus and the hometown kid won it. That's why I got a feeling the Deadman wins it and the Internet goes apeshit and cancels their subscription, while the live fans love it and mark out.

I also think Strowman is going to eliminate the big show and do damage in the rumble.

I'd like to see some Finn Baylor too.
