how about getting xavier henry from new orleans for a second rounder...he's rotting on their bench right now and was a good prospect coming out of kansas...in the right situation he could blossom ...henry is similiar to a james harden and we could build around kyrie, x.henry, and tristan thompson...similiar to OKC westbrook, harden, ibaka and we could focus on getting a sf in the draft similiar to a durant...thoughts?

ironically we own NO 2nd round pick for this year

if we can give that back to them for Xavier henry I am all for it

Anytime you can get a young, unproven former lotto pick while using marginal assets, you absolutely do it. I'd love for the Cavs to pick him up.

Some strengths and weaknesses from DraftExpress:

STRENGTHS
- All-around offensive polish
- Efficiency
- Scoring instincts
- Commitment to playing defense
- Defensive fundamentals
- Intelligence
- Likelihood of reaching potential
- Role-player potential
- Strong Intangibles
- Understands limitations
- Solid passer
- Above average athleticism
- Coordination
- NBA body
- Size for position
- 3-point range
- 3-point shooting percentages

WEAKNESSES
- Ability to play at different speeds
- One-dimensional?
- Ability to create own shot
- Advanced ball-handling skills
- Lateral quickness
- Versatility to defend multiple positions
- Limited upside?
- Explosiveness

Sounds like he could be a great seventh man kind of player like Gee. If anything, you buy cheap, raise his value with some PT, and sell high.

I can't see NO doing this. His upside is better than that of a second rounders and he is still on the cheap rookie contract.

he looked completely overwhelmed last season. have not seen him this year

They just acquired him a little over a month ago, I can't see them giving up on him this quick for just a second round pick.

I love these lets aquire threads with no thought. Injured, just aquired, but hey I am sure NOLA is ready to give up on a 2nd year player. Its not like they arent in rebuild mode too or anything.

I think there is a lot of potential to deal with New Orleans. We are both rebuilding clubs and have a few things we can offer each other.

It has been well noted that New Orleans has been in financial trouble and our owner has some deep pockets he's willing to reach into. With Emeka Okafor having a 46.1 million dollar contract with 3 years left, we may be able to work out a bigger deal if we absorb his contract for young talent.

I would love to see if we could acquire Minnesota's 1st round pick via New Orleans for taking Okafor's large contract from them. Maybe a Jamison, Sessions, cash, and their 2012 2nd rd pick for Okafor and Minnesota's 1st rd pick. I feel we win big in that scenario, and they set their club up better for rebuilding with Okafor's long term massive deal off their books. I would even be willing to throw in Hollins or Erden, their pick.

Maybe we can haggle a similar deal to include Henry. Finding someone who is willing to take Okafor's contract could be priceless in there eyes. Okafor could fill in for Andy the rest of this season then could be a solid role player for the next 2 years. Imagine something like this:

Irving, Gibson, 2nd rd pick
Bradley Beal, Gee, Harris
Harrison Barnes, Casspi, FA
Thompson, Samuels, Harangody
Andy V, Okafor, Hollins

I know it is a stretch to land Barnes and Beal, but image any type of similar draft like this. There are a ton of SF and SG in this draft, pair any of the top 10 up and our future is looking bright.

isn't there like a 30 or 60-Day wait on players that have just been acquired.

Or is that only if signing a new contract or something else.

Just thought I'd mention that out of nowhere, Okafor is now questionable for tonight's game.

Hornets injury update: Gordon, Jack, Landry, Smith out Monday vs. Utah. Kaman (left ankle sprain) and Okafor (sore left knee) questionable

Time will tell. I think Henry for a second rounder is quite ambitious to say the least, but if they are a rebuilding team, why is he only getting garbage minutes? Not even development minutes but straight garbage minutes.

i believe that's only for bought out players. But I could be wrong

That's if they're bought out. I remember Rasheed Wallace was traded to ATL and played one game and the moved to DET. Funny fact is that in NBA Ballers Vol 1 Rasheed is actually on the Hawks.

Ballers was maybe the best game ever.
