to be honest, for me at least, my hatred of howard comes from everything he does off the court. he kicked the shit out of us last season in that series and i can respect that because the dude is a man-beast on the court and has all the athletic ability in the world. why should i hate him for being too good for us? he was just playing his game and dominating us

to me, howard just seems very fake off the court and in his public presence. whether it be the whole christian thing with the nba logo when he came into the league and turning around and knocking up a magic cheerleader or his constant need for attention by doing stupid shit and now his whole public schtick being based off shaq...he just rubs me the wrong way

I never really got the impression that LeBron is any more fake in public than any other celebrity. Granted, the guy tends to say the right thing rather than mouthing off the large majority of the time. I guess that could be perceived as fake. Other than that though, he seems like a pretty genuine dude.

Few guys are "real" off the court. Everyone has to try and say the right thing. If every athlete started being real, we'd dislike A LOT of them. Also, how do we know if what they are seeing is fake or "seems" fake? We don't know these guys off the court, so when we see their personalty it might appear fake to us because we're not around it all the time. Some guys can be the nicest, most real guys on camera , but off the court they have been complete assholes.

Here is a question for a laker fan...do you like Kobe? I mean, obviously he is an incredible talent, but personality wise do you like him. Personally I am not a huge hater, but I dont like his personality much either. Stars i cant stand are KG, Melo, and Pierce if you think he is a star. Just curious, is there anyone on the laker team you dislike from a personality stand point?

lebron...maybe its just because he has to be pc nowadays, but lebron was always the funniest guy in the room regardless of situation and now it seems like the only time we see that personality is when they are taking a pre-game photo or in the rare glimpses at a practice (like roasting on kobe during the olympics for how the mamba wears his pants in pregame warmups). i just think the public sees an image of someone who thinks he's bigger than the game rather than the class-clown persona that the people close to him

maybe fake is too strong of a word for both howard and james, but i just wish the situation would allow for their real personalities to show (and this could be howards real personality, i just dont think it is). examples of this, i dont think kobe would do well in the comedians role but the silent assassin fits him perfectly on and off the court and i dont think kobe hides the fact that he is an assassin
