With all the patch work signing going on, the whole Stallworth issue and the cutting of JJ the pick has to be Crabtree.Orakpo is an option but has question marks about standing up and dropping back in coverage.

Or with Wells impressing on his pro dat does he jump up the boards.

Re: You got to think its Crabtree at 5

I think we trade down. I dont think there is any chance that we draft Crabtree we'll most likely draft defense.

I hope we can trade down but I dont think its an option. So how then at 5 comes in and has an impact from day one, also Braylons contract is up next year so why not get our future #! wideout that can slide over after a year from the #2 wideout

Defense, defense, defense.

DEFENSE.

I am really hoping that we can do a three way trade with lions and broncos where lions would get cutler and we'd get more picks

Re: You got to think its Crabtree at 5

Who are the wide receivers on the roster right now? Braylon (involved in trade talks), Stallworth (who knows what will happen), Steptoe, and Hubbard (both who shouldn't be expected to contribute). To me, I'd have to think Crabtree has to be the pick unless someone falls to us that we really want or we have a receiver in mind at the beginning of round 2. I can't imagine a WR not being one of the first two picks unless we sign someone.

Re: You got to think its Crabtree at 5

I would be really surprised if the Browns don't end up selecting Brian Orakpo at 5.

He's the best pass rusher in the draft and the Browns have been one of the worst teams in the league in sacks seemingly since the return.

Re: You got to think its Crabtree at 5

I would much rather trade down then get Crabtree. We need more picks and then we could draft a 2nd WR.

If we stay at 5...I have no idea who I want.

Re: You got to think its Crabtree at 5

I think they will get that outside backer in the 2nd round,Its pretty deep draft for olb to jump on a project at 5.

WR is deeper.

And Crabtree should definitely be considered a project.

Re: You got to think its Crabtree at 5

I'd like to get Orakpo at #5 and then hope for Heyward-Bey or Nlicks in the 2nd if we're going that route. I'd like Shonn Greene if we went RB. There's some good LBs in Round 2 also.

Re: You got to think its Crabtree at 5

Actually, I know who I want, but I seriously doubt Curry will be there.

If he is, they won't be able to turn the card in fast enough.

The only reason Crabtree is sliding is because he won't be healthy at the beginning of the preseason. Since (let's be honest) the Browns are rebuilding, I have no problem with a guy who has great long-term potential but may have a rough start to his rookie season.
