Your 2018 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The problem i see with this team as well as the past few seasons...they simply do not string a lot of hits together...there’s a lot of dead spots in the lineup...Brantley should help but I think ownership missed the boat this season. We will surely lose Miller and Allen in the off season and i think these past 3 seasons were are window...should’ve gone for broke to get one before it collapses

I agree on all counts, except for blaming ownership...I really don't think I can do that. We had our shots, the team just did not execute. Clearly they were good enough to win it all the last two years. This will probably be the last year of the window, but we'll see. Baseball is nuts. It's so unpredictable.

Brantley is a really good player and while he won't hit for a bunch of power, having him in the lineup would strengthen it significantly. I really hope he comes back soon and is a mainstay for the remainder of the year.

This year is definitely the last year at a maximized window. I believe we'll be very active come deadline and of course waivers. Ownership wants to weigh some things before they go all in one more time. I saw they're paying attention to fan support more than ever.

Sell out the park if you want some names is what I'm seeing.

However, if they don't continue spending money and taking chances then I won't be returning to my season ticket plan. I'm an avid baseball fan, I will pay to see them be active and put out a winner, then enjoy the results at the end. I'm done with the rebuilding shit. We're built, the core is here, drafting is in a great place, minus Miller and such we're still in a great place. Losing Lindor is going to be a fatal bomb to this franchise.

I think the team realizes what greatness we have and what we can add to it to maximize another October run.

We can use another closer to give us a dominant 6-9 innings. We also need a thumper of some sort.

Just a reminder that the trade deadline & waiver deadline exist and that the Indians have been active in both the past 2 seasons.

They made some really good moves the last few seasons, but I was hoping they would have done a bit more this offseason (aka signed Cain), but at the same time they are near their max the owner can go when it comes to cap so I understand why it didn’t happen.

We have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball and Shaw haters will notice what he did for us in due time. The issue last season was we put a ton of pressure on really young hitter (Lindor, Ramirez) in the playoffs and they didn’t come through. If those two can do what they did all season in the playoffs without adding pressure we would have won it all.

Can our younger guys/less experienced guys step up and not falter under pressure of the big lights this playoffs? If they can stop themselves from faltering then we can win it all.

Let’s look at the bright side: Even when Minny and ChiSox win today, we are only 1.5 games out of 1st. :biggrinthumb:

Should have signed Shohei Ohtani instead of Yonder Alonzo in all honesty

Any word on McKenzie?

Not a great start. BUT, since the division is poor, they likely cant play themselves out of a pennant in April and May.

It takes awhile for the pitching to get going, same with the bats.

The pitching has been okay. Hit or miss, really. Carrasco and Bauer, eh. Kluber and Clev, good. Bullpen hasn't been awful.

It's the hitting, right now. Good lord is it's hard to watch. But I feel like we do this every year, so, I'll just wait.

I feel the same however, there are a couple things. They are making pitchers go into higher pitch counts and making some contact which is reassuring. The things that concern me is that they have shown in the playoffs and the start of this year is, throw off speed pitches all the time and then sneak in FB’s instead of working off the FB like we do. Also, they are not consistent with what they swing at and don’t. They lay off a pitch and then swing and miss at the exact same pitch in the same AB.

It is just the beginning so this is why I am not worried right now.

I’m not worrying, these Cleveland teams under Tito have always gotten to slow starts. Plus we’re only two series in.

If you’re wondering if I caught Jay Bruce’s grand slam today at Nats Park ?? The answer is no...
