It’s Diaz, Allen and Brantley that are hurting us from that list. The rest I almost feel like I could care less about.

Shaw pitching well too. EE off to a good start but was unspectacular here. I’d love to know the reason why Terry hated Diaz...

Why do you say that?

Everyone will talk about his ABs, but he looked like typical Frankie at SS, which is more important to see at this point.

He looks healthy. Better than he did prior to the ankle. If he responds well tonight/tomorrow morning, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him activated and in the lineup.

Terry doesn’t hate anyone, but I don’t think he was high on him as a baseball player. He has so-so range on the field, doesn’t hit for power really and wasn’t known in the minors as an RBI guy, but in hindsight I think that Terry will regret his decision. No one is perfect and maybe he is hard to coach/manage like Bauer is, but when you allow him to be himself he does just fine.

To be fair, where do you play Yandy last year?

You're not playing him in front of Edwin at DH, which is his best position. You're not playing him ahead of Jose at 3B, or Yandy at 3rd with Jose at 2nd moves Kip out of the lineup.

The only idea that would even have been close to working is putting him at 1B over Yonder. While that's probably best for the long-term, moving a rookie ahead of a veteran like Yonder can be a troublesome clubhouse move. Then, compound it with the fact that Yonder's a vet who came here cheap, and you want to relegate him to the bench? That might not play well for the next time we're vying for a vet to come here for cheap. Being able to get the CarGo and Hanley type players is a luxury that you probably don't want to throw away.

I wish we still had Yandy right now, but it just wasn't in the cards. I wish him the best in Tampa. Go get it.

I think Diaz would still be here if, like Bauers, he was willing to work at becoming a decent corner OFer.

Any concerns about not being 100%? I may be looking into it too much but he stills look...off...running the bases.

I’m not sure he’ll be 100% all year. But you don’t have to be 100% to play and be good. He’s going to have quite a few maintenance days early on after he’s activated I’m sure.

But I mentioned earlier in here. They have him wearing something on his ankle and calf. He looked like his normal self playing SS yesterday.
