Good one
Why did we designate him? He’s one of our better hitters.

It’s just one game, but still...
Watching Roberto Perez struggle to hit .160 this year is not going to be fun.
Realizing this lineup, even with Lindor and Kipnis back, is still average at best. That sucks.
Anyone worried Lindor might miss an extended amount of time btw?
Also, I’m concerned that teams figured out Jose down the stretch last year. He looks terrible, seems like he is out in front of everything. Can’t hit a breaking ball.
Here is the list of players we let go (am I missing anyone?)
Encarnacion
Alonso
Brantley
Chisenhall
Gomes
Allen
Miller
Hard to believe we will be better than we were last year. When we got annihilated by the Astros in three games.
Anyway, it’s baseball, just one game. Still, super depressing to watch. Especially knowing where we were just a couple years ago.
@gijimbo Not necessary calling you out specifically, but your post was the first one I found via serach. Lucky you.
Encarnacion was upgraded to Santana
Alonso sucks
Brantley's still Brantley but he didn't want to stay here.
Chisenhall got hurt before playing a game this year.
Gomes is being outplayed by Robo. Robo's being paid less, and the haul we got for Gomes is already paying off.
Cody Allen is cooked
Andrew Miller is cooked
Hard to believe people still doubt this front office and make hot takes early in the year.
It's still frustrating. The bullpen isn't good, the outfield is pretty bad as well. Hard to feel like this team has a legitimate chance to compete for the title.
It's an emotional way of looking at it, but you can just feel that the Indians are on the downswing and aren't as good as they were just a couple years ago.
We are 13-10, only 23 games into the season. Some of those guys I mentioned are struggling early in the year, but I still wouldn't mind having a couple of them. Also, I haven't followed it much, but how is Yandy Diaz doing? Even Josh Donaldson is a guy we could have considered bringing back. The offense has scored 90 runs, which is the second worst in the AL, behind Detroit.
I'll come back to re-evaluate this later, but I think the nature of my point was right. We let a lot of decent players go and became a worse team than we were in 2018. The AL is stacked (although some super talented teams have had their struggles as well), so it's frustrating when you can see our window closing. Obviously, we could shore up some issues at the deadline, but I still have the same general attitude about this team.
I notice that Cleveland fans rarely, if ever, dwell on the weaknesses that every other team has solely to consistently complain about their own.
Boston has been mostly terrible with a number of holes throughout their team.
New York is floating along, but are crushed with serious injuries and riddled with inconsistencies.
Houston's starting staff is average at the very best.
I mean, we get it. The Indians lost guys to attrition, mostly because the fan base refuses to support a winner. Donaldson went to play for his childhood team, Yandy Diaz was a nobody whom nobody wanted until all of a sudden he's got 6 bombs and people will pretend they knew it the whole time.
Now that the majority of those other players have flopped elsewhere, we've moved on to other complaints about a team that obviously isn't perfect but was designed to be re-evaluated mid-season to see what exactly they'll need down the stretch.
