"You've Got to Give it To Wally"

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I love Wally lately. He is like a white Andy but shorter. He plays the role that is asked of him and that is great for the team and for his career because he is going to get a ring out of it.

I love how we are so deep as a team. These rotations that we have could be legitimate starters and do well against a fair amount of other NBA teams. The Cavs really are extremely well put together and I love it. I love how the game's lead can be expanded upon when LeBron sits. I have fallen in love with the bigs rotation. You gotta believe that once we need more defensive presence, Ben will get more extended minutes, it's just that the games have all been blow outs, and the team as a whole has been extremely well.

I know these two opponents we have faced thus far are not the caliber of Orlando, Los Angeles, Boston, or Houston. But, still, when you have a team that can have a guy like Wally come off the bench, electrify the crowd and play well, it says a lot about the Cleveland Cavaliers. There's no other team or homecourt that is more impressive anywhere in the NBA.

Dude, the crowd was just laying the love out for Wally tonight!

I was at the game, and the dude was just absolutely loving it. He was so absolutely overwhelmed by everyone chanting his name, that when Mike Snyder interviewed him on the floor after the game, he got this big smile and was like "I love you guys!!"

So crazy. All the jokes are coming back to bite us... Our boy's bustin' teeth on the block and throwing down dunks. Haha.

I thought the jokes were mostly tongue and cheek. But yes, Wall-E has been huge for us all season long. The fact that he doesn't fit in actually makes him fit in, if that makes sense. He has learned to redefine his game by his post up, fall away jumper, that will go in about 80% of the time. Once his lateral movement and quickness completely go, he'll be done. But he'll always be able to shoot the rock and give butt slaps. Always.

If he's playing out any legs ..I'll give him all the props in the world:chuckles:

That was awesome! What a great game... Wally is really hustling out there and I'm proud to say that I'm a Wally fan! :) haha

If you don't love this guy's effort, then you're just not a realcavsfan...

Yeah, and that he knows this, accepts it, and and enjoys it goes a long way, too.

The fact he is hustling, giving hard fouls, shooting 62.5% from the field, and going 100% from the line in the playoffs so far also means that he must be getting some real respect from his teammates. So far, so good.

Yep. Most of us never expected Wally to be a starter on this team or to overcome his knee surgeries, but hustling, playing smart, and knocking down some shots gets it done.

I would take it a step further and say if you cant appreciate Wally's effort you are not a fan of basketball. Look, I want the cavs to win as much as anyone, but i am a fan of basketball first. Wally leaves nothing on the court. Its why so many of us like delonte and av too. Effort guys who give 100% at all times. Fun to watch, fun to root for. If wally doesnt make a play, its not for a lack of trying.

Well if Wally sucks at regular season and be like this every post-season then I can't complain. I'm loving him right now.

I love to see what our 2 resident Wally World specialists have to say about Wally's resurgence.

You gotta give it to Wally. When the team makes a good play in the first Q when the bench still isnt in it fully, he'll be the one standing up clapping and cheering.

All the better because he had to know he was the guy everyone wanted to "dump" at the deadline, and he had to read/hear that stuff every day for weeks. And really he had to be aware of it the whole season. He didn't even know if he'd be with the team now until after the deadline. But rather than sulk about the lack of "respect", he just plays that much harder, and pulls that much harder for his teammates. A good, good guy.
