Z Doesn't Make All-Star Game.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Z may be the 2nd best C in the East, but 13.6/9.6 just isn't all the impressive.

Still it would have been a nice touch to name a second player from the eastern conference champs....

It is impressive enough when your 7'3" and nobody on your team knows how to feed you in the post. Its criminal that Z did not get the nod. He is playing his best basketball since his last selection. The game has moved away from true centers, but it doesn't mean true centers don't help win.

Oh but don't you see, they had to make sure the the backup guards were both from Detroit, and of course Paul Pierce got a bid as the other forward along with Jamison.

The all star game is a joke now. Calderon gets robbed for Billups? Apparently running a 6:1 Ast/TO ratio isn't impressive in the NBA.

I know I will get no rep points for taking this stance, but David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and the great moral compass Neil Young once told me on a decade-long drug binge:

If you're not with the one you love, love the one you're with.

don't wanna sound like a nerdy Youngophile but I don't think that great moral compass played on "Love the one you're with"

The voting was done by the coaches, they have every reason to reward a player on things other than raw stats, but I'd say it's a stretch to expect them to judge Z by how many points he would have scored if our guards could feed him better. In fact, many many people have noticed how Z's numbers dropped like a rock when LeBron was out last time and have come to the opposite conclusion - that if it wasn't for LBJ setting him up - he'd have very little.

They picked two players from Boston and Detroit because those teams are tops in the ECF right now. Unfortunately our team defense and team offense right now are set up so truly only one player can shine, and we simply don't have the record to change anyone's mind.

At least the one year they named Maagilore(sp) to the team, they pretended that the Center position still existed. IIRC, his stats weren't that good at all, probably very similar.

Rasheed named to All-star team replacing Garnett???

Ilgauskas 14.9 pts, 9.7 rebs, 48% FG, 82%FT, 23 double-doubles
RWallace 13.9 pts, 7.3 rebs, 43% FG, 73%FT, 8 double-doubles

Yeah, go figure,

I know Z doesn't care and he is happy to have the rest, but Cleveland gets the hook once again.

I think it's because Rashweed is such a great guy.

Z never gets any respect league-wide, so this is not a surprise. I'm disappointed for him but happy he'll get a little rest.

Rasheed is an ambassador for the league... Z is Z..

Rasheed is a piece of shit..I can't stand that whiny little bitch..best feeling in the world sending his ugly ass home last year.

Didnt El Asshole Wallace even say a while back that he didnt want to take part in any All-Star games?

No surprise at all for Ilgauskas to be underestimated once more. Ridiculous but expected decision.

The national media will not give credit to the Cavaliers besides LeBron until our fan base gives credit to the Cavaliers besides LeBron.
