I think it's notable that Z has added an entire dimension to his game this year, the three ball. He had taken 37 threes in his career up until this point, for an ugly ~14% average.

This year, he is 6 for 11.

I am unsure how I feel about this facet of the offense, but I could see that his ability to move out five more feet creates a huge spacing issue for defenses. I also tense up when I see the big man moving out behind the arc, catching, and shooting.

I think it's pretty amazing that he has added the three ball to his game in his 11th season.

Wondering what you guys think of the trend.

Sometimes, I want him to shoot those corner 3's. The fans and players alike look energized whenever Z sinks it. :chuckles:

yeah i like it, as long as he doesn't start shooting more than 1 or 2 a game. He could be the most versitile center in the league.... its like his dunk

It makes sense for him to take one or two threes a game, he takes so many long 2s you might as well mix in a 3.

yeah i like him mixing in a few 3's here and there. Keeps the defense honest.

all i can say is WOW,can yao do that:chuckles:

At this point I'd rather him take them then Sasha.

the 3 isnt new to Z's arsenal its just this is the first year mike brown has let him take it. before the only time he shot 3's were as the shot clock was expiring. It has been clear however that he can hit the long shot from just inside the line so why not let him take that extra step back.

This one of the first years the Cavs can afford to incorporate this play because Z's teammates are shooting at a high percentage. There aren't as many available offensive rebounds.

That said, I want to see less of this play in the playoffs when shots are contested more and Z's tip drill will be even more valuable.

Ilgauskas is actually 6 for 13 for the season which is still quite an effort. Last nights game marked the first time Z has hit multiple 3's.

The Cleveland Cavaliers.......Even the CENTER can sink a shot.
