Z for Three?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Z should get 3 attempts a game! Whoo... 2-3? This is only because Z is a god among men and must be allowed this.

Is it legal to be that tall and shoot that far?

it stretches the D, great stuff. should run that play 2-3 times a game.

He's just trying to get into the 3 point contest during All-Star weekend. I think he'd do great, the guy doesnt even jump on the shot, so it takes no energy. Some of the shorter guys tire out there at the end because they rush, for Z, a three pointer takes about as much effort as you or I taking a free throw. Start the lobby now Mike Brown, Z for long distance shootout!

the 3 isnt new to Z's arsenal its just this is the first year mike brown has let him take it. before the only time he shot 3's were as the shot clock was expiring. It has been clear however that he can hit the long shot from just inside the line so why not let him take that extra step back.

Exactly bob... he's been doing pick and pops just a step inside the 3pt line for years now and it annoys me to no end. Take a step back big guy and get an extra point!!!

They didn't want him to get too far from the offensive glass in the past, but perhaps thanks to all the small ball we've been playing the other guys have gotten more used to helping out on the the boards.

I couldn't believe it when he took that one at the top of the arc. Then it almost went in. That would have been awesome if it did.

Z should take more threes a game than LeBron does. Simple as that, because LeBron doesn't have Z's range lol.

a couple 3s once a week will be good, it will make centers guarding Z have to guard him behind the arc, thus allowing more room for Lebron to go for the lay up or dunk and if Lebron doesnt have the shot, hes got a wide open Z for the 3!

The midrange is and should be his main role in the offense. But 2-3 attempts per game (as it seems everyone agrees on) is a good idea to keep the opposing center honest.

I've always felt Z should have been getting more exposure out on the 3 line ...if you watched him in practice over the years you've always known that he's had that range at his disposal ...this year without a guy like Donyell on the roster, it makes sense to pull him out more often and give him some shots there. I think you'll actually see his chances out there go up markedly as the season progresses, and he'll maintain a very nice percentage as well.

I can see him pushing the 40% mark from out there, given a good sample size to work with ...at 7'3 with that sound set shot, and nobody contesting, he could be one of the best in the league percentage wise if he makes it a staple option in his game.

Did you put a few too many back after the late game last night, potentially causing you to still be loopy? :chuckles:

The best 3 Z ever hit was off glass against Phoenix a few years ago to send the game to OT.

Yeah that was great. Did you hear how the crowd reacted when he hit those? Oh man it was crazy. It sounded like they kinda got hit in the gut. They couldn't believe it. With Carmelo heating up and one point and Z and Delonte on fire, that was the most NBA Jam like game I have seen in awhile.

I am sure in practice Lebron has Z range. I love Z, but he is a set shooter. He is not pulling up off the drible with a hand in his face like Lebron does. Although, did anyone else notice that Lebrons fg% is now above 50? Take less threes, drive more, and all the sudden he finds himself in the exclusive club of perimeter players shooting above 50%. Only 3 point guards, no sg and no other sf are above 50% shooting.

pretty soon, we'll have ben wallace doing fadeaways

that's how awesome this offense has become

Yeah that is pretty good. Wade was at 50% for a little while, but after a few stinkers he isn't any more. I was just kidding about the threes, but i like that LBJ is almost cutting it out of his game. He is getting that Mid range game working and driving so much more. Good times ahead if he keeps the threes to a minimum.
