Z signs with cavs 5 yrs 55-60 million

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was thinking... Who can be a rebounder and a defensive presence?

Reggie Evans who is about 6'9 240 lbs limited offense/ good rebounder

Drew Gooden is about 6'10 242 lbs and has offense but is a liablity on defense

Chris Anderson is also 6'10 228 lbs very atheltic can score mainly off of put-backs, but if signed it should be in his contract that he is never allowed to be in the Dunk Contest again.

Robert Traylor is 6'8 and 284 lbs we all know what he can do, but will Gilberts pride get in the way of the Cavs going after "The Tractor"

Therefore we have several cheap options available to us, plus if you trade Gooden expect a 1st Round Draft Pick

Please... Chris Anderson is a stiff. I'd like to see what Gooden can do under Brown's guidance. And I'd love to see us get Traylor back. Tractor has a bad rep because of his body but look at the hard work he put in last year. He was very nice off the bench and would be again.

p.s. I have a curly lock of Ben Poquette's beard hair from the '85 first round series against the Celtics. My Dad was a janitor at the Richfield Coliseum and he was able to get it out of the sink after the game. Should I put it up on eBay? Or does someone on here have any interest? Thanks!

it isn't often when a Cleveland team can keep their all-stars when they hit the FA market so this is great news.

no doubt that a PG is the next on Danny Ferry's to do list. after all the doom and gloom of not having a front office in place until the day before the draft and lossing out on Allen and Redd the Cavaliers have done well for themselves this offseason.

even after they get 1 of these PG's signed i don't think Cleveland will be done this offseason. one thing the Z signing does make them a little week in the middle of their D, so i feel they have to move Gooden and find a 4 who can D up.

Everybody wants to move Goober, but he has the right size length to be effective at the 4. Its all about his head though..

We would benefit to trade him for a tougher inside guy, but I don't know any worth a dime who are available. I do think we need another Big Body. Three bigs is not enough to beat the Heat. Someone mentioned Dale Davis as a possibility. Isn't Motumbo also a FA?

The Cavs don't want to commit a big long term contract to Gooden. I don't think they like his inconsistent play and poor defense. The talent is there but it's true that his head isn't alway in the game and he does show poor court sense at times.

A possible sleeper at PF who I think could be acquired for very little is David West of the Hornets. He was their #1 pick out of Xavier 2 years ago who was hurt most of last season. I think he could provide a similar type of game as Haslem if he develops. If the Hornets resign Chris Anderson, and I thought they had agreed to a contract, than they'll have 6 players on their roster who can play PF if you include West. With so many players at 1 position that's why I think he could be gotten for very little. I think his contract is for about $1.5 million next year.
Just another cheap option that maybe the Cavs should consider if they're looking to go in a different direction at PF.

Glad to hear this.. Ferry is making it happen.. gets the top FA and now resigns are big guy.

lmao...how dumb are you two?

First of all, my name isnt ricky...obviously.

And second, do the math.

5 devided by 55 is what?

When you can figure that out, you come talk to me...til then, I never once said what he would make in his first year. I said he would be getting double figures, which he is.

Everybody and their mother knows that his first year would be his lowest average year, every single contract is like that, why do you think the % rule is in the CBA?

Now, let's get back the topic because Im honestly done arguing with you little kids.

A Mac shuts it down. His 1st year will be between 9-11 I'm hearing...We did overpay but lets hop Sarunas turns out to be a bargain and come here.

At the end of the day we should all be happy. The Cavaliers got one of the best offensive big men in the NBA, whilst Ilgauskas got another deserved payday. Everyone's a winner.

thanks mexic, chiefwahoo, and others (I thought I was reading correctly)..and I will leave it at that...

and like Karma, and ChiefWahoo said - this is a better team that it was a week ago, and we should be able to add two pretty good pieces in the next week (one for sure)with the money left over. Go Cavaliers!!!

Look at it in a very optimistic manner..

The Bucks massively overpaid for Redd and Simmons (150 million)
We got the best overall SG in terms of defense passing and rebounder.
We got a top 5 Center in the league back in Z.
We are on the verge of landing the best player from the European Continent..
Detroit may be losing Larry Brown who elevated the game of Detroit the past 2 years.

Just remain optimistic..everything will work out and we will all be happy come November...
