Lol. That's hilarious.

Or the fact that you aren't really equipped to answer these questions might come into play? I mean, you didn't study physics in college right? You're not an engineer, right?

And as someone who has taught these concepts at the collegiate level, I do have to say, the last time I checked you didn't really understand the concept of the Second Law and how it might relate to open systems. I think we had that conversation before, and I needed to explain this to you in detail; I still don't think you got it though.

Just press the back button bro, nobody is forcing you to post in here.

p.s.
The whole "star emitting a particle" shows an immense amount of ignorance with the history of astrophysics. The question of blackbody radiation as it relates to black hole event horizons has been a remarkable area of study that has led us to question many fundamental principles of science including our understanding of when and where to apply thermodynamics to quantum systems and how this might work, as well as other fundamental concepts like the principles of locality and equivalence.

If you don't understand these things, and aren't interested in thoughtful conversations about them, then that's fine. But to simply suggest you know something that you obviously do not and then to say "well, it'd take to long to explain;" I mean, who are you trying to fool here?

the original big name questioning if this was an inside job, with set explosives, was a professor (and thats all that mattered), at Wisconsin, with a doctorate in.. PSYCHOLOGY.

also a mechanical engineer, no this wasnt an inside job with set explosives. quit playing devils advocate. you dont need a Phd in this stuff to know when metal gets really hot it weakens.

Yeah I'm not sure who it is you're referring to, I may not be fully aware of all of the players. I don't really know their argument so it certainly isn't my own.

But to a certain extent, yes, I am playing devil's advocate because we should evaluate the question critically and if doing so certainly the accepted argument should hold up to some modest level of scrutiny, right?

The thing I think about in regards to 911 is that Clinton tried to kill Osama at the height of the Lewinsky scandal and everyone was really psyched to say, "Wag the dog". The movie had just come out. Crazy to think about what would have been if they had been successful killing him in the 90's.

Dipshit? Ha.. hit a nerve did I?

Let's just get down to it.. You think that a year or more spread out among all of those topics qualifies you for such a conversation above anyone else off the street? Are you fucking kidding? :chuckle:

Do you have any idea just how ridiculous you sound?

Saying that someone who is taking their required prerequisite courses to complete the Naval Academy would be equivalent to someone who majored in these topics in pursuit of a science based degree is a joke.

You took your prereqs, what 50 years ago, and you're telling me that alone qualifies you somehow? I don't think so.

Argue your case on the merits, or not at all. That's what I say.

And you've asserted the ridiculous styrofoam argument to me, to bolster your own claims? I'm simply calling you out on your absence of evidence argument which is facetious at best. The only reason you decided to respond this time was because I think you know you're out of your depth on these topics.

Right...

I speak for all Black guys? Like the 60% of Blacks who support Hillary Clinton? I'm just like them, huh?

I speak for all Arabs? Really, even those guys in ISIS too, huh?

You mean, I understand Islam and come from a Muslim background and can relate to Muslims; which is something you don't really understand or appreciate?

Actually I'm none of those things and I've never claimed to be. I've always said I never got my Ph.D, and I've always said that anything I say can and should be fact-checked; I could be wrong. The reason you don't like this is because you want your opinion to be accepted as fact, without discourse and without any reason to believe you know what you're talking about.

Yet for some reason, you continue to assert this argument, time and again, that you know more than anyone else on these topics, yet here we are, with you claiming that "you're no expert!"

That's your go to line anytime you get called out for saying things when it's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about.

In the Middle East based threads, you've proven time and again you have no idea what you're talking about; going so far as to claim that Palestine was historically Egyptian territory and they should just go back to where they came from. Or to the point where the Iranian revolution had to be explained to you by myself and two other posters. Or to the point where you finally put me on ignore, or so you claim, because you kept getting exposed as presenting arguments without any factual evidence.

You're a shoot from the hip pseudo-thinker, who is far beyond the point of actually processing new information and learning new things, but instead feels the inclination to post on topics with which you have no factual basis for your flawed opinions.

Actually I don't, yet again, you continue to assert this. Inferiority complex, maybe, I'm not sure. But I could post ten different posts of mine where I state quite openly "I am not a Ph.D, and I am not an expert in this field."

Am I a structural engineer? No. A political scientist? No, never studied it. Am I a world-renowned statistician? No.

I've never claimed to be any of these things, so why do you feel so distraught and small when compared to me?

I do find it amazing that you are so intimidated by someone over the internet. If you've studied and retained all the information you would have in an engineering track through a series of undergraduate, we can have an advanced conversation about these topics.

The problem is that whenever I try to do that, in an academic way, you lash out and get upset. I think that's largely because you're afraid to realize your not as smart as you think, and you don't want everyone else to come to the same conclusion.

I bet you don't.

Ruined your day for someone to call you out on your bullshit. Again, who are you trying to fool?

p.s.

BTW, in all seriousness. I am curious, what were those 4-semesters of "post-calculus" math?

I'd very very interested in hearing you tell me you feel comfortable in your understanding of and can explain to anyone (not necessarily me) the concepts of differential equations and/or linear algebra; because that would mean you're a lot more knowledgeable than I would have guessed, given what you've explained of your background.

And that's really the beauty of maths and physics in general, we don't need to go back and forth like this, we can talk about these things through the sciences we're referencing. If you feel that you're equipped for that conversation, then let's have at it.. I'm more than eager to have a real academic conversation about the topics you've raised.

Are these things required to discuss these topics? No, not at all.. But when you claim that "well, it'd take too long to explain it, and most people just wouldn't understand it" (your line not mine), then I think that calls into question what you're talking about; because that is inherently an argument from a position of authority that you do not hold.

Sweet jesus

Ah fuck, I should have known.

Actually I did, dipshit. Had to take a full engineering load which is required of everyone at the Academy. So yeah, a year or more each of thermodynamics, structural engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, physics, 4 semesters of post-calculus math, so yeah. But you don't have to be a fucking Ph.D to know that a fist isn't a plane, and a steel and concrete reinforced building isn't a piece of Styrofoam. I'm not an expert in those fields, but I know enough to recognize a bogus argument.

Yeah, I've heard your line of bullshit before - can't believe I was dumb enough to "click on ignored member"....

You're the Black guy who speaks for all Black guys when that's convenient to your argument. You're the Arab guy who speaks for all Arab guys when that's convenient. You're the non-Muslim Muslim whose word trumps whatever any other Muslim leader says, anywhere.

You're a world renowned statistician, political scientist, theoretical physicist, structural engineer, and an expert on whatever other subject is brought up. We know this, because you tell everyone how much everyone else respects your opinion.

Surprised you have the time to post at all given how much you must jerk-off at your own magnificence.

@The Oi

Ugh, wish I hadn't clicked on that....

You dirty mothafucka...

If life is true to form, @gourimoko is about to get his shit broken.

Oh, so you guys thought gourimoko was winning that fight with Q-Tip just because gourimoko is black? And he's got to be the black guy just because he may or may not be a black Muslim biology major who got a 4+ on AP Organic Chem?

Racists.

I thought it was because I was Muslim? Oh wait...
